A taxi driver who sexually assaulted three young women within two weeks has had his case adjourned to allow for the preparation of a psychological report.
Mansoor Uddin (41), a married father-of-three, sexually assaulted two of the women on the same night after demanding that one of them get out of his taxi when he saw her trying to get a photo of his identification. This 18-year-old victim had also called a friend while in the vehicle and gave her Uddin's name and some of his taxi number. She tried to take a photograph of Uddin but he stopped her.
Sergeant Aoife Cronin told Sinéad McMullan BL, prosecuting, that gardaí used CCTV footage, a database of registered public service vehicles and a computer-generated likeness from the first victim to identify Uddin. As part of the garda investigation, officers also used GPS co-ordinates from the HAILO app which confirmed that Uddin had travelled the three routes the women had outlined to gardaí.
Uddin of Castleway, Adamstown, Lucan, Co Dublin pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to sexual assault on January 30, 2016 and two sexual assaults on February 16, 2016. Judge Sinéad Ní Chulacháin adjourned the case to May 8, next, for sentence and remanded Uddin on continuing bail.

Later in the news story it reports;
Sgt Cronin agreed with Seamus Clarke SC, defending, that as part of his bail conditions a female passenger is not permitted to be a front seat passenger in Uddin's taxi.
How would you police that? And I wonder if he'll finally lose his licence now that he has been convicted?

I've said if before , a complete re-vetting of ALL taxi drivers , lay down the rules , NO EXCEPTIONS.
Immigrants or Irish Drivers found out to be illegal , take licence off them.
Immigrants found to be illegal in this country , deport them
Couldn't be Simpler.

You see...that would probably lead to more Irish drivers being punished than anything else...a certain criterion of acceptable criminality would have to be established as a baseline...........and according to the offices of power....everyone is vetted....

Kinda related but in the article it says that Mytaxi/hailo gave the cops GPS information to help with their investigations which was the right thing to do.Do yis really think they wouldn't hang yis out to dry if ya knocked someone down on the Quays at 2am doing 50kmh in a 30kmh zone.GPS coordinates are a much more accurate determination of speed over skid marks and a measuring tape...And then there's the journey records that the tax man might request at some point...

This is an absurd decision and the taxi drivers of Dublin are disgusted by this
Women , Girls even men put their trust in you the taxi driver to get them home safely without fear of being attacked

Had a barrister in the car this morning and he said if you have a really good barrister on your case and the judge likes him and if you have some nice letters from Parish Priest, Local TD, Etc Etc then you will more than likely get Bail.
Oh he also had a good laugh at the terms of the Bail (No Female allowed in front Seat) , fckn ridiculous.

Drivers should expect to be asked for a receipt on most journeys involving young folks now. Just make sure you've everything tickety-boo. The Driver Check app on IOS and Android is being hammered at the mo...........be prepared and watch for those seeking opinions on current affairs. Many Trotskyites/Marxists will be looking to switch and deflect the blame here...........A diplomat thinks twice before he says nothing.

There's no record of him having driven a taxi since November 2018 and his licence was allegedly revoked in February 2019 when he entered a guilty plea. However, the licence (K8106) was shown as active (but not linked to a vehicle) on TFIs Driver Check application at 09:22:36 this morning but has since been removed (i.e. lapsed).
Are you aware of any relevant criticism from the Immigrant Council or is that just a figment of your imagination?

The shiners advocate appointing a body similar to PSA to conduct vetting. They believe men should be sacked from taxi driving on foot of convictions handed down by the British judiciary, the same judiciary that convicted the Guilford Four and the Birmingham Six while they support licensing immigrants with unverifiable criminal histories. Notably, the security trade is the only trade that can boast more immigrant licensees than the taxi trade.

Indeed and those who fought tooth and nail to prevent the introduction of a test for PSV drivers outside the Free State. Haven't heard a peep from Prophet before People or those on the hysterical left at all about any of this.

I think most of the Shiners taxi firms in Belfast offer a "private taxi" option which is essentially an unlicensed car and driver, traditionally a form of employment for freedom fighters. By point of fact the Shiners had "Uber Style" taxis long before Uber featured in anyone's wildest dreams.

If he was Irish by accident of birth he'd probably get a suspended sentence as the offences are very much at the lower end of the scale but, as an immigrant, I'd guess 2 years with the last 6 months suspended.
