Immigrant?

Was she wearing a pretty little thong?

Very light on facts given that they're supposed to be looking for information.

Reads more like a false accusation
than anything else, probably had a row with her partner or partners before hand, women can be vindictive.

On that very morning I came to the rescue of young philipino lad I was driving back from howth about 6_ 30 am. I saw a car stopped in the distance I thought it was a taxi picking up a fare. as i drew closer, the car shot off at high speed into bay side . when I got up to where the car had been, there was a poor young philipino lad in a very upset state the scumbags in the car had jumped out , beat the crap out of him took his phone, and wallet we gave Chase in to Bayside, but I have no idea where they went. We called the cops who dealt with it after that. I offered to take the lad into work, thibking he was going to work cause he had been at the bus stop. To my surprise I thought he was just going I to town, he was actually going to tallaght

Were the attackers immigrants?

In my younger years I commuted from Coolock to Tallaght twice. First spell was by public bus to attend an Anco (FAS) course when I was 17. We had no cross city buses in those days, it was a bus into the city and another bus out to Tallaght. Then in my 20s and still living in Coolock I took a job in Tallaght but i had a car by then so drove across, initially the only way was through the city but then we got the M50 from Blanchardstown to Tallaght, which was marginally quicker provided there were no crashes, can't remember if it was tolled back then.

I have no respect for the likes of Loraine Clifford Lee, Corona Murphy, or Peter casey. These fukkers soon withdrew their comments and apologized profusely for what they had said about Muslims, nigg*RS, and cream crackers due to pressure from the bleeding hearts brigade, and the fukkin left wing liberal crap merchants. They have no balls. At least in consistent in my statements that I don't want foreigners here claiming Irish citizenship, and diluting my national Identity. Ratty is another one for always telling us how great foreigners are, so let's see when the recession kicks in and there is fukk all work out there will be STILL be as welcoming

I just take them as I find them, DM... and my experience has been a largely positive one. During the last recession I disliked all post entry liberalisation drivers not just those of a different race/colour. They all had the cheek to complain that the business they got for a mere 5 large was no longer viable, FFS I've lost more on the turn of a card. Of course, the blame lies with the authorities who used the trade as they used Semi-States in years gone by i.e. to keep the unemployable occupied. However, I'm in a better financial position now than then so I don't think I'll give a bollix when the next recession hits.

There was plenty enough taxis and a reasonable scheme to increase supply in place. What was lacking was alternative forms of public transport at certain times of the day/night. In any event, folk enjoyed queuing for cabs, it was part of the fabric of the city and a way of life, a rich cultural experience if you will.

You didn't have to buy a new motor, back then there wasn't even a 3 year rule so any clapped out shitebox would suffice. It was perfectly obvious that the authorities had no regard for how the next recession would impact the trade, they were only interested in maximising boom time demand to avoid investing in any other form of public transport and employing the unemployable. We have some artificial barriers to entry this time round so the next recession might not be quite as bad... but it will come and it will hurt those who aren't prepared.

That's mad I never wanted to do this job.It was the last option I could think of to pay the mortgage when the courier work dried up.The thoughts of having some stranger sitting behind me used to give me anxiety. Now I probably give the passengers anxiety..

I'm sure most, if not all, Semi-State employees were perfectly competent. However, as Semi-States their role in the economy wasn't restricted to merely providing a service, it included creating employment to create wealth through the circulation of money i.e. man gets wage, govt takes tax, man buys pint, govt takes tax, publican pays barman, govt takes tax, barman buys smokes, govt takes tax, etc, etc... Privatisation removed that tool from Govt so alternatives were required.

That was a bit of sarcasm there oxi.  Your original post just quoted Charles' post and was then blank, so my well said observation was being a bit sarcastic but then you edited your post to include your own words. How anever it turned out ok  :)
