Leo says the reason we went from level 3 to level 5 is so we can all return to level 3 by December the 1st .WHAT THE FUCK .So we wont be able to go to the pub .Go to sporting events .Attend funerals without limited numbers go to a wedding without limited numbers .Can we even leave our own county .GET A GUN ,teach your kids to shoot .Whats the Story with level 3 can we even go to Christmas Mass ?
-
Why are ya so surprised all the time.
-
Merc yesterday this was supposed to be the beginning of the end of level 3 .Counties like Tipp have nearly no Covid but are now in Lockdown .What is the endgame for level 5 is it just to do a bit of window dressing because Leo called Nephed Cunts and the numbers went up is it just arse covering by TDS .I read in the Paper the two ministers for money Paggo and Mc Grath and the idiot in charge of hospitals were against the escalation .Obviously we cant afford this it wont work .Wait and see if the School Teachers call time then Mick from Cork who staked his reputation on keeping the Schools open will be overthrown by one of his Minnions .
-
They'll relax things if we're very very good for Christmas. They'll look like heroes but the country will owe money for 30 years. All very predictable.
-
Merc I read in a financial paper a great conspiricy theory .The Brits should introduce Britcoin this would be similar to Bitcoin but backed by British GNP and underwritten by the Uk government .The idea being most of the worlds bogey coin would be funnelled through Britain and be non traceable .This coin and its profits would wipe out the British National Debt overnight and replace Sterling .It would be a digital coin with no actual coins or notes so the British Government could tax it at sourse you spend you pay bit like VAT included in the price .
Are the ECB thinking along these same lines with a digital Euro .Why are they lending the likes of Ireland,Greece .Italy funds they know might never be repaid unless they are going to have a built in tax as you spend element to coin recovery .Paggo who was fiscally conservative is now trowing around money like they did in the Grushies in the Flats when Betty Doyle got married .
We voted for the Fiscal treaty that included limits on spending and debt but we are ignoring the Constitution .Watch what happens when this is over and the Big lenders say Sorry Ireland but you are broke and cant be trusted you break your own laws so how can we trust you to repay us .Like you say Merc we will be paying back for a generation and not @20c in the Euro .
-
I didnt expect the pubs to be open at Christmas at all never mind level 3. would you be bothered working nights in level 3? it would be grim to say the least, i doubt I will, I might take the Christmas nights off for once.

90 under Level 3 only 6 people can meet in a house .So yourr grandkids cant come over for Christmas Dinner .Mine will and I dare any Gard to knock on the Door .

I was just thinking about working at Christmas, I don't have kids and could go months without seeing friends which suits me. I suppose it will be hard for extroverts but people will do their own thing anyway, its not China or North Korea, a blind eye will be turned im sure.
-
No. I was watching the Million Pound Cube. Nice to see a poof that isn't Irish on English TV for a change...
-
They did it to save Christmas they say
So we can sit outside pubs on level 3 in freezing December eating cold pizza
Yes Christmas is saved by Leo the non Christian

Levels 1 and 2 are no longer relevant. A myth, if you will. Level 3 is the new normal.

On the spot fines of up to €500 will be introduced for those who breach general Covid-19 guidelines.
The cabinet has agreed on a new set of graduated fines for those flouting lockdown rules, with the more serious offence of throwing house parties punishable with a €1,000 fine for a first offence, €1,500 for a second and €2,500 for a third.
Each offence also carries a potential one, three or six-month prison sentence.
The fines could see people who breach the 5km travel restriction hit with a fine of €60 for a first offence.
Gardaí will be given the new powers to fine people who hold house parties under new measures, in which Gardaí can attend a house and break up a party but they will not be able to enter the property.
If the owner does not break up the party after a Garda request they will be fined under a fixed charge notice.
Gardaí will also be able to move on people believed to be loitering or on their way to a party.
If the person refuses they will be fined.
The CMO Dr Tony Holohan supported the fines, saying that they would deliver the "marginal improvements" needed to fight the virus.

Elaine Loughlin: Covid-weary public has moved to level five despondency
"They won’t be necessary to encourage the right behaviour on behalf of every individual but they will play a role and I think they’ll have a marginal effect,” he said.
“And every marginal will be helpful in terms of the challenge we have to overcome.
“Every little measure that we can have, including the use of graduated fines in certain settings, can get us that extra little bit of improvement that we need."
The government was also forced into a quick U-turn on Tuesday morning increasing the number of mourners at funerals to 25.
It was announced early in the day that the numbers of people allowed at funerals would be increased to 25, up from 10, after there was widespread shock that 25 guests were allowed at weddings but not funerals.
The U-turn came just hours after the Taoiseach had defended the low number stating that: "In one location you could have many funerals," however one cabinet source said there was "little argument" about having the number increased when it became apparent it had become an issue for the public.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien presented a new memo to the cabinet that would enable a country-wide moratorium on evictions for as long as the new restrictions are in place.
The Bill will come before the Dáil on Wednesday and the legislation should be passed this week.
Mr O'Brien said the new legislation will build on measures introduced in August to protect tenants who had suffered reduced income or who lost their jobs and he would be "further engaging with the banks" on the freezing of mortgage payments.
GOVERNMENT JUST LOST THE PEOPLE >FINED FOR HAVING PEOPLE IN YOUR OWN HOME >THIS IS FACISISM >IF PEOPLE DONT TAKE ON THE GOVERNMENT YOU ARE SERFS THE BRITS DIDNT EVEN RESTRICT WHO COULD VISIT YOUR HOUSE WHEN THE STOPPED US GOING TO SCHOOL AND CREATED HEDGE SCHOOLS >This will not go down well with Irish citizens .ITS GAME OVER FOR THE GOVERNMENT .

If the owner does not break up the party after a Garda request they will be fined under a fixed charge notice. So you rent a gaff they hold a party you get fined rofl rofl
-
So under the new rules If I go to my daughters for christmas we have porter and I decide to sing thats a Gaff party and I can Be arrested .Time to rise up and rebel this is getting to much lihe I984 for me .GET A GUN .
-

so I hold a massive house party, the guards come and warn me to shut it down, if I dont they fine me. Typical Ireland, the party host should be fined straight away, why warn him/her? we all know the rules at this stage.
Also this like every other law we introduce will not be enforced.
-
THE OWNER of the property will be fined not the party thrower ? its fucking nonsence .If lets say I and me hen are visited by our kid and her two kids with him .And we are waving them goodbye and our kid not the one with the kids but the one with the tattoos arrives home from the hospital where she is an anisates' and has saved half a dozen lives during her 26 hour shift gives her nieces a hug in our garden then all 7 of us a breaking the law and could be fined .THATS THE LAW THEY WANT TO INTRODUCE GET A FUCKING GUN AND BE PREPARED TO USE IT .
So if Dublin Corporation are the owners they get fined not the RESIDENT as written in law .
-
I see the Garda are not happy about being part of the Coup .They dont want to be charging a Mammy for organizing a Birthday party in her house for kids .Think about that you can have 20 kids sitting in a classroom and the Government say its safe but ask just one of them over to your house for a kids birthday party and you could be fined or go to jail .The Irish Government are imposing more restrictions on the movement of Irish citizens than the Isralies impose on Palastinians .Orwells 1984 and Animal Farm coming to life .
-
I think Leo was right when he said this thing was not thought through

The thing is the teachers will be wearing masks and making sure all the guidelines are enforced in the school, but mammy wont be wearing a mask in her own house.

Here Dalymount we are closing down the country but keeping the airport open ...This is what happens when you dont stop people coming in to a country ...A coronavirus outbreak among hundreds of Russian and Ukrainian fishermen flown to New Zealand to bolster its struggling deep-sea fishing industry has prompted that country's largest daily increase in infections in months, authorities said.....Ill say it now I dont think we will be returning to level 3 in December .The Animal Farm part of some animals are more equal is playing out GAA can continue Horse Racing can Continue they changed their minds already on how many can go to funerals or weddings .The Government seem to be playing off vested interests to try and keep us all a little bit happy .If there is one or two outbrakes on building sites and they have to close them down and pay covid coin we are in serious financial trouble and thats without the Cancer to the economy that is Brexit .
-
John,ya called me Dalymount gain instead of Dollymount.in getting worried now.remember the last time that happened ? You actually went on to agree with me on something or other.
-
Dollymount .Language is key to this virus .Covid RELATED deaths and POSITIVE tests .I was told that the way they count tests .You get a test you are positive that is counted as one positive test then you get a second test to confirm the first one that is recorded as a positive test as well so two POSITIVE tests but only 1 patient .The Government thought about changing the way they report figures but then didnt .That way they have the ability later to change the way they report and only count the actual patients and not the tests that way the numbers will nearly half and whatever they did will look like a success .
-
So Dr Tony will look good when he is able to report less then 100 a day like he's aiming for ?
-
Dalymount Can you believe the Taoiseach didnt know because nobody told him that the Tracking and Tracing app was over run last weekend he only found out when somebody sent him a text of the Irish Times article .Now that says a lot of how Fucked up the system is when somebody thought it was a good idea to text the Leader of the Country a newspaper article they must of known that he is being kept in the dark by other members of the Government .
-
Here is another question .The Taoiseach was in Brussells less than 14 days ago so why is he not self isolating .

Essential workers don't have to self isolate AFAIk.
-
Essential workers don't have to self isolate AFAIk.
So a taxi driver could go over to England for the Darts fly home and go straight to work ?Dont think so .Unless they signed a SI that makes Cabinet Ministers and their Senior Civil Servants exempt without telling anybody .
How is Donnelly getting away with it .The Tracking and Tracing is under the HSE so his responsibility and No Flu vaccines available even though they are still advertising that people at risk should get it .
-
Yes it was there from the beginning. It may have been changed since then though.I think an Taoiseach is an essential worker even if you don't like him.
I think yer man Donnelly may have been in contact with a positive test person or some other shite.
-

Show us where that is written down that Essential workers do not need to self isolate ?
-
John it was there from the beginning at the press briefings. If you've been in contact with a suspected possitve case you must isolate regardless of whether you are essential or not. That's the difference.
-
This is all I can find it dosent include Politicians ....You should restrict your movements for 14 days after your arrival. This means you should stay at home and avoid contact with other people and social situations. You do not need to restrict your movements if you are:
Arriving from Northern Ireland
Aircraft crew, including pilots, in Ireland as part of your work
Holder of a Certificate for International Transport Workers, or heavy good vehicle drivers and are in Ireland for work
Ship crew, including the maritime master, in Ireland as part of your work
Arriving from a ‘normal precautions’ listed country (countries on the ‘green list’)
-
Erm they're the top of the command chain..they can do and go where they need to unless they've been in contact with a suspected case.

Earlier, Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors General Secretary Antoinette Cunningham warned that the legislation could "cause difficulties".
In a statement she said: "We remain concerned about the practicalities of issuing on-the-spot fines in relation to house parties and other matters."
Speaking on RTÉ's Today with Claire Byrne, Ms Cunningham said spot fines should not be a panacea to all Covid-related policing issues.
She said that the AGSI "don't believe it has been considered enough" and is "not sure what the consultative process around this was".
Ms Cunningham said that the "explain, engage and encourage" model of policing had worked well to date in the majority of cases and An Garda Síochána had had a lot of success with it.
She said the 5km travel limit is the easiest thing for gardaí to police as it is supported by road traffic legislation, but that "steering into policing house parties and protests... it becomes vague and ambiguous".
DO YOU SEE IT POLICING PROTESTS .So if you organize a protest and more than 6 people turn up can you be charged ?

CIANAN BRENNAN
They say that the five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
That being the case, the announcement of a second lockdown for the 26 counties on Monday night has seen me dig so hard into an anger bunker that I’m not sure I’ll really have any time for the other four stages.
Where to start. Maybe with the inconsistencies, the endless, tedious inconsistencies.
You can meet a loved one outside, but not in your home. You can’t leave your county, but you can fly in and out of the country.
Schoolchildren can associate with hundreds of other young people on a daily basis, but not in their house. Gyms and hairdressers, generally among the most hygienic of establishments in Covid times, are to shut, but elite, amateur (ie, these people have other jobs and workplaces) intercounty sport is to continue.
You can train with 14 others, but not play golf. The All-Ireland championships are needed to buoy the nation’s spirits, but the arts, which interest plenty of people who couldn’t give a fig about sport, have been shut down.
When it comes down to it, there are a lot of things our months-old Government has proven itself to be terrible at, but its crown jewel of incompetence is in its messaging.
I’m old enough to remember the end of July when then acting chief medical officer Dr Ronan Glynn told the press that schools were absolutely on track for reopening in September.
In late June, a week before the change of Government, then taoiseach Leo Varadkar accelerated the reopening of the country because the virus’s curve had been effectively flattened.
How on earth were things let get so out of control in the space of three short months — a time which the Government seemed determined to use to embarrass itself to a cringeworthy extent on a daily basis?
The WHO says that lockdowns are not a solution — they’re a last resort. For Ireland, they appear to be the only resort.
It all started with the announcement of the ‘roadmap for living with Covid’, which was promptly abandoned 10 seconds later. We were supposed to have five levels, instead, we got level 2.5, level three-plus, level four squared, and secret level eight (whereupon the whole country goes to live under the sea).
The Government fell foul of the bad student's curse — don’t set yourself a work plan you have no intention of sticking to.
Two weeks ago, Mr Varadkar rammed a knife into chief medical officer Tony Holohan’s back in a manner Brutus would take his hat off to. Nphet’s call for a four-week level five lockdown at the time “had not been thought through”, he said. It wouldn’t be happening again.
Some coalition cheerleaders suggested that this macho posturing was necessary because now it would be easier for the Government to reject Nphet again next time around. That went well.
Covid-19: Getting patients to text close contacts will allow system to 'reset', says HSE
A fortnight later, when we should have been halfway through the misery of level five we’re instead told we need six weeks of restrictions to flatten the curve once more. That’s a U-turn Vin Diesel would be proud of.
Level three hasn’t worked, says former minister for health Simon Harris, despite the fact it had been in place across the country for a matter of days.
Incumbent health chief Stephen Donnelly — he of the self-aggrandising ‘look at all I’ve achieved’ video during a global pandemic — says the new move, so urgent they’re waiting two days to do it, is a “preemptive” one. Right so.
The new measures were announced without anyone bothering to note that food shopping can be done surplus to the five-kilometre travel restriction. Asked about it, the three coalition leaders 'ummed and aahed' and stared at each other and shuffled their feet and then acknowledged such travel will indeed be legitimate.
Add to all this uselessness, the endless, never-ending leaking. Don’t get me wrong, leaking is a necessary part of the political process — used to fly kites or get ahead of a narrative, or maybe just to provide a little titillation.
But when the relentless nature of restriction-leaks is playing Russian roulette with the mental health of an entire nation though, it all starts to feel a bit unseemly.
Tuesday morning saw the first climbdown, with the numbers of people allowed to attend funerals bumped from six to 25 in line with weddings. Expect more.
This is not to say that Nphet has exactly been covering itself in glory. We got through the first lockdown via an enormous public effort of solidarity.
Meanwhile, the public health experts got the nursing homes situation hideously wrong (one of the main reasons the deaths are so low at present is due to the comparison with April and May when almost everyone who died was aged over 80).
We were told for months that masks weren't needed, then they were mandatory.
They said no to masks for months, then mandated their use. Who can blame people for being sceptical?
They got direct provision wrong, they got the meat factories wrong. The airports have never shut.
And boy howdy, do they love them some harsh restrictions.
“Is there anything to be said for another lockdown?” said the CMO in his best attempt at becoming a Fr Ted meme.
First, they recommended no movement from level three. Three days later they wanted level five. Four days after that they wanted no movement. A week later and we’re back to level five again.
Here’s a simple question: what is the strategy? Is it to survive the flu season without the hospitals being overwhelmed? Fine, that’s laudable.
But what happens after? What’s the point of getting to Christmas with a low level of cases so we can all party ourselves silly and head into dry January with yet another lockdown for company?
When does lockdown and nothing else stop being the sole approach?
Micheál Martin said that herd immunity isn’t an option. Why isn’t it? Why isn’t crushing the virus via an all-island approach an option? Why can’t the airports be closed? Are we capable of any original thinking on this?
Some countries around the world — and many of them admittedly have the advantage of their administrations being authoritarian in nature — have done quite well with the virus. What’s to stop us from imitating them?
There is only so long you can go on like this. Make no mistake, this belated lockdown isn’t going to be the same as the last one. You can forget about cocooning for starters. The Government certainly seems to have done so.
Why would people who have so clearly been ignoring public health advice for months suddenly decide that this most half-assed of lockdowns is something they can get on board with?
Shutting down their local barber isn’t going to make much difference. It just means they’ll have slightly longer hair.
We’re at a very dangerous stage of our history.
You can only destabilise society and ruin your economy for so long before undesirable forces start to take a firm hold. It’s time for serious governance and a firm, long-term strategy. You’ll forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.
This lockdown is so that we can all have a normal Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I’d forego Christmas if I felt the Government had any sort of sustainable plan to get us out of this mess.
I WONDER IF THIS JOURNALIST HAS BEEN READING MY POSTS ..???

Erm they're the top of the command chain..they can do and go where they need to unless they've been in contact with a suspected case.
Sure baldy Donnelly got his test result in ten minutes that time a few weeks ago when the snots was dripping from his nose in Govt buildings. Can't even remember if he isolated for the required period.

Where would you prefer we copied that have been successful in getting a grip on the virus?

the commie government in China spun it that the virus was brought in the country by foreigners of the chocolate variety and everybody swollyed it. there's zero cases because nobody wants to get tested and have the stigma that they must have been knockin around with a chocolate face. there's been mass evictions and deportation of Africans in China as a result.

Test, trace & isolate seems to be the best option. WHO recommends it. China and South Korea got on top of it by doing this.
Isolate - we should be doing ok because if you get the virus, you get €350.
Trace - we seem to be messing this up big-time. Also, people are not playing their part and getting tested properly (there's 2 tests).
Test - we seem to be doing ok on this. We're doing over 100k tests/day but some tests are not getting done in time, according to anecdotal evidence.
Personally, I think house parties/gatherings are the problem. I'd get serious about that but how? Maybe better advertising to change people's behaviour? Some people need a good kicking. We've lost the Summer, Halloween and no pubs until 2021. And Xmas is 50/50!
The new law is a bit of a joke. The Gardai can only knock on your front door and ask you nicely to stop the party! Imagine the reaction in certain parts of the city to that!

I heard the erm is gonna have to be craned out of his boxroom....teleporter on it's way to ground zero in Clondalkin.

2000kms to it's nearest neighbour.....and a strict quarantine for it's own residents returning home.

Right, but we're only a little place with unarmed cops for the most part so there needs to be cooperation from the public. They only need most of the population to play ball hence the new laws that wont be enforced.More of a deterrent I suppose.
If we follow New Zealand's example we close the borders which logistically is near impossible and very very costly.Say no to tourists for a few years. That might work but all the foreigners living here won't be allowed home or back in.
I don't think we're doing that bad compared to other places. If you watch the Irish media most of it is overblown.Every little mess up is turned into a crisis. So in a way it's our own fault for buying the papers and watching the shite news.Things probably aren't as bad as they appear.
A vaccine is definitely on the way but the media forgot about it because Halloween might be cancelled.
-
Ill explain to you why we failed after the First Lockdown its simple if you accept the truth ..In late June, a week before the change of Government, then taoiseach Leo Varadkar ACCELLERATED the reopening of the country because the virus’s curve had been effectively flattened. Now once again the EGO struck he wanted everything to be back up and running before Mick took the controls so Leo would get the credit for pushing the Fever out of Ireland Sure he would be up there with St Paddy and the Snakes .Im sure Publicans and Hotelliers were applying great pressure for a reopening How many Publicans or hotel owners in the Oireachtas looking at the Numbers Im sure deals and assurances might of been given to independents or party members that everything would return to normal .We probably should of stayed at Stage 2.5 .I dont think Irish People realize like Trump,Borris ,Erdogan ,Macron Duturte Leo is an Egotist .He is minister for industry but you wouldnt know it as he never speaks about industry but has opinions to voice on every other Ministry .
-
The author (David Salisbury) is a former director of immunisation at the Department of Health so probably knows what he's talking about.
If you're pinning your hopes on a Covid vaccine, here's a dose of realism (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/oct/21/covid-vaccine-immunisation-protection) (Guardian)
<snip>
The UK currently has among the highest national coverage of flu vaccine in the world, vaccinating around 75% of the over-65s against flu every year; most countries either do worse or have no vaccination programmes for older people. It is reasonable to expect that this level of coverage could be achieved for a Covid-19 vaccine in that age group in the UK. Therefore, if the Covid-19 vaccine is 75% effective – meaning that 75% of those vaccinated become immune – then we would actually only protect 56% of that target population (75% of 75%). This would not be enough to stop the virus circulating. Almost half of our highest risk group would remain susceptible, and we won’t know who they are. Relaxing social distancing rules when facing those risks seems a bit like Russian roulette.
Now let’s look at people younger than 65 in medical risk groups. In a good year, the UK vaccinates 50% of them against flu. That means just over a third of them are going to be protected (50% of 75%). Just to make matters worse, regulators such as the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency have said that they would accept a 50% lower level for efficacy for candidate Covid-19 vaccines. If that efficacy level is fulfilled, we have to multiply coverage by 50% efficacy, not 75%, and suddenly it all gets more concerning.
<snip>
A little bit depressing but worth a read if you have 5 mins.
-
Watty lots won't take the vaccine but at least by that point we will have felt like we tried.I do think people will rather catch it than avoid it after Christmas it means living like a monk for the next ten years.Even Dr Tony might get some abuse.
Erm anyone who goes into politics is doing it for their ego.Why else would ya give up a good job?To get a better one plus some perks and some fame.Thought that was obvious.

I already posted in this tread .Ireland Inc.will NOT reopen on December 1st .this Lockdown wont work .and I will tell you why .The new measures were announced without anyone bothering to note that food shopping can be done surplus to the five-kilometre travel restriction. Asked about it, the three coalition leaders 'ummed and aahed' and stared at each other and shuffled their feet and then acknowledged such travel will indeed be legitimate..If you cant get toys or clothes in this Republic you Can and WILL travel to British Cities Like Newry.Lisburn,Belfast ,Derry .Why are Fever rates higher in border counties ?Would it have anything to do with cross border spread .Lockdown is a bit like prescribing Penicillin for an infected open wound and still cleaning it with Stagnant water .
I kid you not but Big Dommos Sisters two yungones and their mates are flying to England in the morning to go Shopping they will fill in the Form to self isolate when they get back but I doubt they will really bother or anybody will actually check .

Hal knows Im crazy so now digest this .As it is above so it is below ..Im now going to enlighten you .This Corona Virus is a scam its mind control but it will fail .We are entering the Dawning of the age of Aquarius watch what happens on 21st of December .Why are they using a Corona Virus to scare us .Its because Corons has always been used to muster power Corona actually means Crown .From the Crown of Thorns for Jesus to the Crown placed on kings or Queens heads Corona as in Coronation has always been used to control us .The Matrix is collapsing even the Pope now supports Same sex marriage. The lockdowns set to control us have helped to enlighten us .What else have you got to think about when your locked up in the box room .The World Financial system will collapse They know this thats why your getting 350 a week because its never going to be paid back .Today most of you wont know this but Pay Pal have been given a licence to buy sell and deal in Crypto currency .Crypto currencies mean you pay what you think something is worth not what the state tells you you need to pay .Watch tomorrows News All the businesses that wont close and challenge the Governments Power I have told you for a long time GET A GUN In December some of the planets will flip their magnetic fields this will result in Devine light and enlightenment .We have been educated by the Christian Bible to believe Armageddon is the end of the end .Thats a control mechanism .Armageddon actually means ..Definition of Armageddon
1a: the site or time of a final and conclusive battle between the forces of good and evil
b: the battle taking place at Armageddon
2: a usually vast decisive conflict or confrontation
What we are now looking at is a vast Decisive conflict or confrontation between good and evil .The evil is a few people on earth that control us a few people on earth with more money than actual countries .Look at religion we can go to the pub and sit outside in the wet drink porter and eat rain sodden soup but we cant go to mass indoors or out doors .If brexit is not sorted before Christmas and Trump loses the White House they might be the triggers that set the people against the state
As it is above so shall it be below The planets effect how we react as we are spiritual beings .You feel better on a sunny Day than you do on a dull day Lunatics were thought to be effected by the full moon .What happened to the Myans check out their calendar there will be a glitch in the matrix .The people will rise up they have enough .Just look around the world .There are riots in Tiland .Nigeria has shut down protests same in Kasakstan Azarbaijan France is waiting to explode .England is broken America will probably explode if Donny T loses .We are entering the end of days and the age of enlightenment .The world is Woke to injustice and unfairness it wont accept it anymore .Nobody knows what the trigger will be but the revolution will be televised .

PayPal will soon begin offering support for cryptocurrencies, including at the checkout, as the Silicon Valley payments company looks to capitalise on a resurgence of interest among consumers, traders and central bankers in the likes of bitcoin and ethereum.
The New York State Department of Financial Services said on Wednesday it had granted PayPal a conditional “Bitlicense”, permitting it to trade and hold cryptocurrencies. In the coming weeks, PayPal plans to offer its US-based customers the ability to buy, sell and hold bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash and litecoin, in partnership with New York-based fintech start-up Paxos.
PayPal’s big differentiator over existing digital wallets will be that consumers can then spend their store of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at more than 20m online retailers.
PayPal told Reuters on Wednesday that its customers would be able to use cryptocurrencies as a funding source for online transactions next year, in the same way as they would top up their wallet using a bank account or debit card today. Merchants will be paid in pounds, dollars or whatever fiat currency they normally accept.
The shift to digital forms of currencies is inevitable
Dan Schulman, president and chief executive of PayPal
Paxos will guarantee PayPal and its users a cryptocurrency exchange rate at the moment of transaction, mitigating the challenges of price fluctuation and long transfer times that have held back bitcoin as a payment mechanism in the past.
Support for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies paves the way for PayPal to work with other kinds of digital currencies, including those that might be issued by central banks, in the coming years.
“The shift to digital forms of currencies is inevitable,” said Dan Schulman, president and chief executive of PayPal. “We are eager to work with central banks and regulators around the world to offer our support, and to meaningfully contribute to shaping the role that digital currencies will play in the future of global finance and commerce.”
The move is the latest example of a more traditional financial services company revisiting virtual currencies this year. The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated a shift away from cash towards digital payments, both online and on the high street.
The price of bitcoin has gained steadily in recent months on elevated trading volumes, rising by more than 70 per cent since the beginning of January. This week, bitcoin was testing the $12,000 mark for the second time this year. However, prices remain far below the levels seen during the bitcoin frenzy of late 2017.
PayPal’s decision to embrace bitcoin and other digital coins has been eagerly awaited by the crypto community, as an opportunity to tap into the mainstream consumer payments market. PayPal and its social payments app Venmo have almost 350m active accounts around the world, making it one of the largest digital wallet providers outside China.
Until now, PayPal could be used only to transfer funds in and out of cryptocurrency platforms such as Coinbase but not hold or trade crypto directly within its own app.
PayPal’s stance on crypto has fluctuated over the years. It first began to add some limited support for bitcoin back in 2014. But last October, PayPal was the first of what would be several companies to withdraw from the Libra Association, as regulatory uncertainty clouded the Facebook-led cryptocurrency venture.
Meanwhile, PayPal’s main US rival Square has offered bitcoin support through its Cash app for more than two years. Square’s co-founder Jack Dorsey has long been bullish on cryptocurrencies. In August, Square reported that its Cash app generated $875m in bitcoin revenue during the second quarter of the year, up 600 per cent year on year, thanks to “growth in customer deman

Former Rural Affairs Minister Michael Ring has said he will not vote in favour of fines for people in rural Ireland who breach the 5km travel restriction.
Speaking at a Fine Gael parliamentary party, Mr Ring said the Government should have stuck with Level 3 restrictions instead of imposing a national lockdown.
The Mayo TD said the rules set out in Level 3 should have been enforced rather than stricter regulations being introduced.
The Dáil is due to debate the new system of fines for breaches of public health rules tomorrow. This will include a €500 fine for anyone who travels further than 5km from their home for a non-essential purpose.
Fine Gael TDs, senators and MEPs are meeting via teleconference to discuss the latest public health measures introduced by the Government.
“Ring let a roar,” a source said before adding that the former minister said “we should have stayed at Level 3”.
Another source said: “Michael Ring won’t vote for fines for people in rural Ireland who break 5km rule.”
Former Education Minister Joe McHugh also raised issue with the 5km rural for rural Ireland.
Mr McHugh said during the first lockdown the evenings were brighter and people might now have to travel further than 5km to find a safe place to walk during winter evenings.
The Donegal TD did not go as far as Mr Ring in saying he would vote against fines for breaches of the rule.
A number of party members including Kildare North TD Bernard Durkan and Senator Regina Doherty raised concerns about the country being more divided ahead of the second lockdown.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said he feared a “mental health epidemic” will come after the Covid-19 pandemic.
They are fighting among themselves already .

You definitely know them roads alright John. A few hundred yards down the road is the home of Louth man "Baron Ballyedmond" (knelt before the queen and described as an Irish-british entrepreneur) aka the late Edward Haughey, founder of Norbrook laboratories in Newry. A bollox to work for by all accounts. Killed in his own helicopter which crashed a couple of years ago.
Anyway, if you went straight instead of left at the scrap yard you'd be straight into forkhill. Very scenic countryside all around there. Completely belies the larriers that live there lol. Only kidding. They're not a bad crew.

Yesterdays offering was no track and trace .How do you trump that ?You mess with the Schools ....A hand sanitiser on the list for use in schools to prevent the spread of Covid-19 is the subject of a safety alert.
The Department of Agriculture has issued a product recall notice for Virapro.
It could force some schools to close tomorrow, or to close early.
The supplier Virapro (PCS100409), was one of 11 on the multi supplier framework for PPE for education settings.
JUST IN CASE YOU DIDNT NOTICE CHILDREN MUST BE LOOKED ON AS ANIMALS THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE ISSUED THE NOTICE NOT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION .......you couldnt make this shit up .
-
Dept of Ag probably does the testing for methanol/ethanol and that's why they issued the recall?
-
Watty .We have a Government that is disfunctional .You are right the DEp of Agg approved the chemicles but its up to the Department of Education to issue a warning for schools ,Didnt hear any warning for any other venues where this toxic chemical is used like HOSPITALS or other Workplaces .I wonder why whos agenda is being played out there .Leo is minister for Industry he mouths off about everything except business which is dying on its arse .The early School leaver informed us last Sunday on the Radio that we were going back into level 5 before it was actually agreed by cabinet .If we were to go back that was a Health issue not a third level education issue Donnolly the Dickhead should of informed us .A doctor Houlihan who was in charge when Womens Cancer tests were fucked up is now in charge of Covid and is calling for fines for people, that is a Justice issue nothing to do with an unelected Medical Doctor .Who the Fuck is in charge .The Generals or the soldiers .The First Lockdown only Leo the Taoiseach and The Early School Leaver Minister for health appeared on TV telling us what the story was now it seems to be a free for all with some Ministers looking for the limelight while others are running for cover .Apart from Mick from Cork and Michael the Money man from Cork and the Dosser Donnolly can you name the other FF ministers .Same with FG we all know the Mouth but who are the other FG ministers .There is nobody in Charge Watty handing out Covid coin and a Double week on the Dole isint going to work .If we dont reopen on 1st of December people will not listen to any of our Politicians they just wont trust them none of them are doing their job.

I agree with you that nobody is in charge. But it's largely the same around the world. This virus is new and nobody really knows how to manage entire populations. Well, maybe China! Every country is going to make mistakes in the own peculiar way. Each country is trying to keep their economy going while minimising the number of people dying. I wouldn't like to be making those "live or die" decisions.
This hand gel thing is weird though. Maybe it's because kids would be using it multiple times a day and the Dept was worried about getting sued when little Johnny got dermatitis?
AFAIK, all hand gels use methanol even though it's potentially dangerous and can blind you if you drink it. I think it's a neuro-toxin as well. Pre-virus, some hospitals had to change their hand gel from the toilets because alcoholics were stealing it and dying! You can drink ethanol (beer, whiskey) but it's more expensive. Probably need a special licence to make ethanol as well.
-
Watty .Look at the Contradictions you can buy food but you cant buy clothes .Tesco Liffey Valley sell both in the same Shop .There just dosent seem to be any logic to it If somebody goes into a pub or restaurant for a sambo you need to get contact details but if somebody gets into a taxi and travels the length or breath of Ireland nobody knows same if you take a bus or train and travel no record but you sit down to eat or drink and you must leave your contact details .They say Traceability is important yet they dont make it mandatory that you download the app to your smartphone and fine you if you dont .I have absolutely no confidence in the strategy it wont/cant work .We should of gotten Mick the President on the telly telling us to reignite the spirit of Cucullen and Ferdia and the DeDannin or some other Great mythical hero and copp on Mask up Wash us stay apart togeather tried to recreate the spirit of 1988 Italia when we were all in it togeather .If and I think it will fail then whats next ?We have to learn how to cope with this shit running away and hiding wont solve the problem .If there is no vaccine by mid 2021 the government cant continue to pay money to everybody then they will have to do what they should be doing now instructing us how to minimize our risk but by then it will be to late our Debt will of changed how we live for a generation or two .The financial fallout from this with all the costs to the state and society are being ignored for short term gameplay .I look on what is happening as like a game of poker the turn of each card is a game changer and Governments both here and in other places are playing the board forgetting there are more cards to come. What im seeing is Governments in Power trying to hang on to that power at any cost .In the beginning this looked like it might be Chemical Warfare now its looking like Psychological Warfare so that asks the Question Are we fighting the wrong enemy ?

AND TODAYS FUCKOLOGY FUCKUP to follow no track and tracing Schools with poison available for kids now its this ....FRI, 23 OCT, 2020 - 12:25
ELAINE LOUGHLIN POLITICAL CORRESPONDENT
Serious concerns around Covid testing have been raised after it was revealed that the National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) will not be able to process swabs this weekend.
Sinn Féin TD Louise O'Reilly told the Dáil that she was "very disturbed" to learn that staffing shortages mean Covid testing will not take place.
She said we have been told "repeatedly" that testing is absolutely essential "that it is a vital tool in our battle with this virus".
"I was very disturbed yesterday to receive a notification that was circulated in the National Virus Reference Lab, an urgent notification in relation to Covid testing at the NVRL due to unavoidable staff shortages."
The notification states that the NVRL will not be able to provide any Sars-CovV-2 on the weekend of the 24, 25 and 26 of October, and the weekend of October 31 to November 1. It apologies for the late notice and any inconvenience this may cause.
Ms O'Reilly asked Health Minister Stephen Donnelly if he was aware of this and called him to outline the measures that have been taken to ensure tests are processed.
"I want to ask what efforts have been made to address the short staffing, the fact that they're short staffed in the National Virus Reference Lab I think is very concerning but I want to know what it is that is being done to ensure that that issue is going to be addressed and that the staff are going to be available," she said.
She said we have already seen the "shambles" with tracing but said "testing is absolutely essential".
It comes as a hand sanitiser product used in schools and the healthcare system has been recalled due to “possible public health concerns”.

777 cases today ,Did they call level 5 to early without giving level 3 a chance to work ?
How many were tested compared to those previously high numbers is the question you're not asking!!
Nobody knows Hal .Its uncontrolledly Chaos wrapped up in incompetence overseen by clowns .
That sums up Irish governments for as long as i can remember....not to mention the reduction in capacity for bus users...when schools and a lot of businesses were still operating as normal unlike the first lockdown......again,my favourite quango behind that fiasco....the NTA!!

There deffo wasn't as much mask-wearing during the last lock down.Maybe it makes a difference.
They'll look like heroes when the reopen the place two weeks earlier than they said.
-
everywhere is shutdown and it's illegal for one cunt to meet another cunt or go to another cunt's gaff.
that shite was'nt around during the first lockdown.
that translates to ZERO taxi work.

Its just the reality of the situation nobody is going nowhere but I wonder for how long .This government seem to be going from one monumental cluster fuck of shit to the next .The cover up of No test and trace ,poison handwash ,No weekend tests .hiding adopted childrens files ,Doing a sly one trying to change the finance bill to tax the Covid Coin .Telling women with cervical cancer that they changed their mind about compo because the Doctor who diagnosed you is entitled to defend himself in court .I wouldnt be too worried about lack of taxi work at the moment I would be trying to stay safe .

Tut tut JohnM. It's a person with a cervix, not a woman with a cervix ???
Controversy over HSE’s removal of word “woman” from cervical cancer information (https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/controversy-over-hses-removal-of-word-woman-from-cervical-cancer-information-1018234.html)
Controversy erupted on Liveline this afternoon over the HSE’s decision to remove the word “woman” from information about cervical cancer to replace it with “people with a cervix.”
A caller to the RTÉ Radio One show said that the removal of the word would mean people with limited English and disadvantaged groups might struggle to find the information they needed when looking for the word “woman.” The HSE has defended the removal of the word, with the its cervical cancer information service saying it aimed to make the programme accessible and inclusive of everyone in the population and to reduce health inequalities where possible, according to the Irish Times. HSE communication guidelines advise the use of “gender-neutral text wherever possible” while advice was also taken from the World Health Organisation and Government documents on the use of gender neural language, the service said.

Leo out in the Jacks having a slash in the Dail while some other TDs have a smoke or do a line .He says to the oulone pissing in the cubicle beside him ."We need to lock down the country to stop the health service being over run with the Dizzzzzeeeeeze " Yer one says Taoiseach number Two we need to close the airports to stop possible Dizzzzeeeezed whores coming into the country" .A ta Fuck No " Said Taoiseach Number two .We need to IMPORT people suffering from the fever into the country .IMPORT yes said Taoiseach Number Two ....The Government is ready for any request from Northern Ireland authorities to transfer patients suffering from Covid-19 to ICU beds.
No request has been made but north-south contacts are intensifying as the situation in Northern Ireland worsens.
However, there is a view that such a request would be a major symbolic step for some parties in the Northern executive so they may be reluctant to go down that route.
There have been 722 positive Covid-19 cases recorded in the North in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall total to 35,554...YOU REALLY COULDNT MAKE THIS SHIT UP .

HERE CUNT I WANT YA said the Minister to the School Principle DUMP THAT FUCKIN POISON HAND WASHING SHIT and buy more different stuff .HERE CUNT I WANT YA AGAIN said the Minister to the School Principle U remember the shit I told you to buy now DUMP THAT SHIT AS WELL ....
SCHOOLS have been told to stop using another 52 sanitisation products that were supposed to stop the spread of Covid-19, following the recall of the Virapro hand gel last week.
The Department of Education has told principals that there is no evidence that the products are unsafe .
But, it says it "has not been possible to satisfactorily confirm their registration status" as part of the review.
The move will come as a shock to principals and boards of management who are preparing to reopen on Monday.
As well as schools, other areas of the public service will also be affected, although members of the public are not being asked to dispose of product already in their possession.
“People are, however advised to ensure that future purchases must have a clearly visible PCS or IE-BPA or EU number on the label, “ the Department of Agricultre has advised
Anybody think this is bollox so the Schools have an excuse not to open without saying its Covid related but Safety related .
