Two former paratroopers accused of the murder of an Official IRA leader have been formally acquitted after prosecutors offered no further evidence at their trial.
Will the Shinners go on the Rampage after Troops get off .......Or is whats sause for the Goose sause for the Gander .Provos cant be charged for their crimes . Will Mary from the Navan Road be on Radio Eireann complaining ?

Two former British paratroopers accused of the murder of an Official IRA leader have been formally acquitted after prosecutors offered no further evidence at their trial.
The trial at Belfast Crown Court collapsed after the Public Prosecution Service confirmed it would not appeal against a decision by Mr Justice O'Hara to exclude statements given by the ex-soldiers about the shooting of Joe McCann in 1972.

What if the uniform is sometimes a french Beret, aviator sunglasses, alpha bargains camouflage jacket? What's with the crybabies complaining about rules of engagement when theirs is hiding behind a woman's apron?
Anyway, by the time there's a united Ireland and harmony, there won't be any genuine micks left, and perhaps that's not a bad thing.

As you rightly say there was atrocities on both sides but both loyalist and republicans benefited from the Good Friday Agreement cos they were at war but the British Army weren't, i'm not condoning the shoot to kill policy that didn't officially exist.

As fer the yank cop who killed the intoxicated blackman passing counterfeit currency, he got 40 years fer his crime.
As fer the black kid killed in Blanch, he too was highly intoxicated running at Gardai with a samurai sword, just because your black doesent make you above the law, only the knackers get that privilege !

ONCE AGAIN this little forum seems to be ahead of the posse when it comes to seeing whats really going on or being set up ....The Government has reacted with anger to reports that the UK authorities are to ban prosecutions of former British soldiers who served in Northern Ireland during the Troubles.
The Daily Telegraph and Times newspapers are reporting that the move is to be announced in Queen Elizabeth's speech next week.
It is claimed the legislation would introduce a statute of limitations so there would be no prosecutions for any alleged crimes committed before the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998.
The reports say the ban would apply across the board, so would also include former members of the IRA and loyalist paramilitary

Its the way they done it Merch .They dont want any enquiry into the murder of Pat Finnucan .The dogs in the streets know there was a shoot to kill policy and the Brits sanctioned or allowed both sides to kill .But when the Brits were exposed as having organised some of these killings something had to be done .My personal view is as long as both sides are treated equally and no prosecutions I could live with that but I dont think that is what this is really about .I think it is the British Establishment minding its own people .The showtrial that collapsed this week was always going to collapse that opened the door for this bit of legislation .Dont think Mary from the Navan Road or the Blond Housewife up There will be to outspoken about british Soldiers who shot to kill getting a free pass .FG on the other hand will be all law and order but wont fuck Leo out for Spying for his mates .They have been talking about this but it was not possible because of the Stormont House agreement but the Brits seem to have ditched that like they will ditch Leos backstop agreement and any other agreement that dosent suit them .

It's a 2 way street, Ken. Political prisoners were released on foot of the agreement so I don't see why others involved in the same conflict at the same time on either side should be before the courts... the same courts that convicted the Birmingham Six and the Guilford Four, as it goes.

I think we are singing from the same Hymn sheet, there were atrocities on both sides, mainly in the North during the 'Troubles' but many more on both sides South of the Border before that, your and my home towns were both burnt to the ground by the Tan's, but fer me that is all history, it's far from forgotten, but it's History.
