Simple competition fer anyone to join in and all are welcome.
How much will Diesel cost on average fer the month of December 2022 ?
Results will be taken from the average on the AA website; http://www.theaa.ie/aa/motoring-advice/petrol-prices.aspx (http://www.theaa.ie/aa/motoring-advice/petrol-prices.aspx)
and are usually published on their website sometime in mid to late January.
The Rules are simple;
Circle K or any other discounts do not apply,
(It's the average price shown on the AA website fer December that counts).
One entry per member.
Entries in Euro currency only.
Entries Close on 30th Sept 2022 and amendments are allowed up to this date.
Late entries after this date will be excluded.
All are welcome to join in !

I'll be keeping me 'powder dry' fer a few days yet to see what happens next Wed 31/8/2022 when the Gov subsidy of .15cent per liter of diesel runs out.

Depends on the Budget will they extend the Duty Cut ? Full price no Duty Cut 2.38 with duty cut 19 c cheaper .Most people dont realize that there is an automatic Carbon tax due on Fuel from last years budget so 2.18 a liter for Diesel .

THIS IS THE UK ......Will EV actually be cheaper ......Electric car owners have suffered a 42% hike in the cost of using public rapid chargepoints in just four months, according to new figures.
The RAC said the average price for using the chargers on a pay as you go basis has increased by 18.75p per kilowatt hour (kWh) since May, reaching 63.29p per kWh.
This rise – caused by the soaring wholesale costs of gas and electricity – has made it nearly £10 more expensive to rapid charge a typical family-sized electric car to 80%.
The figures show a driver exclusively using rapid or ultra-rapid public chargers pays around 18p per mile for electricity, compared with roughly 19p per mile for petrol and 21p per mile for diesel.
RAC spokesman Simon Williams said: “It remains the case that charging away from home costs less than refuelling a petrol or diesel car, but these figures show that the gap is narrowing as a result of the enormous increases in the cost of electricity.
“These figures very clearly show that it’s drivers who use public rapid and ultra-rapid chargers the most who are being hit the hardest.”
Most electric car owners predominantly charge at home, which is cheaper.
But an AA survey of 12,500 drivers indicated that rising domestic energy prices are putting many people off from switching to an electric car.
Some 63% of respondents said the increase in home electric bills is contributing to them sticking with petrol or diesel models, while 10% stated it was the “main reason”.
AA head of roads policy Jack Cousens said: “With domestic energy prices rising, drivers can be forgiven for believing switching to an EV will become expensive quickly.
“However, the reality is that even with the hike in domestic electricity costs, running an EV is considerably cheaper than a petrol or diesel car.”
With sales of new petrol and diesel cars and vans in the UK due to be banned from 2030, Mr Cousens said the Government will need to “keep a watchful eye on how energy prices will impact the transition to electrification”.
Latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show the rapid increase in sales of new pure electric cars has slowed in recent months.
The number of registrations during the first three months of the year was 102% more than during the same period in 2021.
At the end of August, the year-to-date increase had fallen to 49%.
WHAT IF ANY ARE THE SAVINGS PER MILE EV v Traditional ? if most new cars bought in the UK are EVs Going to make getting a Part worn Import very expensive if you can actually get one .Will motorist be like taxi drivers and hold on to their Petrol or Diesel cars until they fall apart .Especially if they cannot buy a replacement unless its EV?.How long before all Running Costs of EVs including purchase price becomes dearer than Traditional motoring .Ken you might ask how much to charge an EV in December there seems to be a good few on the roads now .

I recon 14c a Km so the UK figures are about right per Mile .

EV's are more expensive in winter and I'd expect to use 20kw/100km or 0.2kw/km. eCars external chargers are around 40c/kWh. In other words, approx 8 cent per kilometre...
It would be half that if you charged at home while you slept.

My heap says it's getting 54mpg/5.2liters per 100km..At current fuel prices of €1.70 a liter it's costing according to one of the cost calculators 8.9 cent per Km.Tenner a day depending on how busy I am.
Not bad for a 16 year old jammer.Id say the fuel prices at the pumps will start increasing again soon so nothing is set in stone.All speculation moving the price and nothing to do with the supply.

Those are great figures you're getting.
Now is probably not the best time to be comparing prices as things are so volatile. Around my way, petrol is cheaper than diesel at the moment and, from the sounds of things, prices can go up 5-10cents in an afternoon!

I would in normal circumstances offer to buy one fer you to test out.
But it requires 2 tools, pliers/wrench and a spanner used correctly simultaneously to fit it,
and I reckon that is well beyond your intelligence !

Gone up about 5c this week in Dublin Opec meet on Thursday if they announce any cuts especially with Iran kicking the Shit out of protesting Women and Russian embargos it could go up another 5c this week .I got Diesel last week in Ballyfermot for 168 .Cheapest I seen this week 172 .
