Problem with Champions League Football is its a League .Some Away teams do not come to Play but to defend .I dont like it as a betting medium .I use to bet every Game for a euro to end 3_3 when the books use to pay 100/1 plus on this scoreline but now its under 66/1 .There use to be three or four 3_3 draws per league .Arsenal lack a Goal Scorer and the Dutch could stack the Midfield and play for the Draw .Win your own home games and take one away point is usually enough to qualify for the next round .

5 x "losers" is a terribly negative narrative, Ken. Kicked off with a 14.44/1 3rd, followed by a 10.5/1 second, beaten the shortest of short heads...

Anywaysanall, I'll try harder with today's card from Listowel, again live on TG4 albeit with the presenters speaking pigeon gaylega unless they're interviewing someone.

4 x mythical€50 win singles @ BSP (Betfair exchange SP):

14:10 Missus Beeton (16)

Nice treble ken But like I posted Betting 3-3 every game I could of cashed out on Byern @9/1 .In the other betting tread I refused to play as I said whoever was behind would act the bollox to try to win .Dundee Utd because they done you a turn 20 years ago Or my real money bet on Wales in the rugby because the USE to be good is why the bookies always win if you do not have Discipline you lose .My grand bet to win a Fiver is the Correct invrestment .5 days and a fiver interest  thats 36.4 % APR .Warren Buffet cant get that return .

There you go with that loser word again, Ken. Two seconds and a third at decent odds in the four selections not to mention a winner in the placepot perm. Ifn I was a Premier League footballer (EPL) hitting the post that often the Saudis would be offering me US$1867,735,218/ week FFS.

I'm not a man accustomed to splitting hairs as you well know, Ken. However, I notice that your winning treble included two selections running simultaneously i.e. Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Not a problem, I hear you say... but... it's not possible to do a treble at Betfair Exchange prices in that manner simply because the only way to back on the exchange is before the event (ignoring "in running" options) and the only way to construct an accumulator is to take the entire return from each leg and place it on the next leg. There is, however, a "multiples" button for those football "coupons" which provide the option to construct such bets at somewhat reduced odds (presumably Betfair Sportsbook prices) and which are subject to staking limits. I'll try to upload a couple of screenshots to illustrate the same, bear with me!

Jesus Rodent .This is a serious case of Misadventure .Kenneth has selected 3 Teams that were successfull in their events but the Funding model is Flawed as no such staking moduel was available .I am sure this was an oversight by Kenneth but how do we resolve it .Do we split the Stake evenly on 3 singles or do we void the whole wager or do we just agree that as this is a virtual game that real world rules do not apply and settle the wager in Kenneths Favour .I think I will await your lead on this as it was your eagle eye that highlited the Hair Splitting non treble treble wager .I was quiet happy with my Grand on France later today to win a fiver.
Title: Re: Forum Gambling Challenge.

Ok Rodent after thinking about thinking about what you said I think that I have thought this out .Each of Kens bets are single Contracts on the exchange between Ken and the  3 Layers .So a treble is Void .To reward Kenneth for selecting Three winning sides I would agree to offer him a third of his stake to win on each of his selections as a sporting gesture .

Apology accepted, Ken. Like I said it's splitting hairs really so I don't think there's any need to amend returns, particularly as they were all short prices anyway. I would suggest that no multiples at exchange prices ought to be allowed going forward just to maintain real world parity. Even where every leg concludes before the start of the next there's no guarantee that the same odds would be available so a blanket ban seems most appropriate.

I was watching the rawsee on it a while back with an acquaintance from the mainland. Embarrassing is the only fuckal for it. Not only do the presenters speak pigeon Gaelige no doubt following a phonetically written teleprompt with no attempt to translate names of horses, trainers, owners or jockeys... it also transpires that approximately 1 in 5,346 people they interview can speak a few sentences as Gaelige with the rest of the interviews conducted in the King's English. In fact the presenter asked one jockey if he spoke Gaylega (On will ain Gaylega a gut) and he replied (in English) "only what you've written down for me here"... I kid you not!

@ Rodent there was an objection by the Clerk of the Scales to your requesting Betfair Exchange Sp . It was pointed out by the Clerk of the scales that you taking the Exchange SP was a corruption as your mythical coin not actually being wagered on your losers had effected their Exchange SP .Now like your self I never split hairs especially over something as trite as fractional accumulation .But all things being equal The Clerk of the Scales was just saying how I had achieved 100% of my weeks bets winners and a profit without trying to game the Exchange market .

The objection is noted and merit given to the clerk of the scales fer metioning it, but in my opinion over-ruled on this occasion as the amount of gain achieved would be less that a fraction of 1 cent. Again only my opinion but I think betfair SP's should be allowed with a 2% commission rate, if we ever get around to punting in 10's of thousands then a rewview will be looked at.

Aaah, the profit of doom is straight in to tot up the selections that didn't quite win!

Water Nymph's BSP was 6.05, Ken. https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Listowel/21-Sep-2023/1450 (https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Listowel/21-Sep-2023/1450)

Anything under a ton isn't going to impact on BSP, erm. In the real world one would generally beat the SP in any event. Using API access to take the price just before the off would achieve that for any serious punter but that would be beyond the scope of our competition as it would prove difficult to verify whereas BSP is readily accessible. However, if you want to replicate the real world perhaps we could start with your own selections to date. There is no traditional bookmaking firm that would accept €1,000 at any published price unless you have a heavily losing account. In the real world you'd be told you can have €10 at the price and the rest at SP at best.

Correct Rodent Paddy Power would reject a Long one on anything in fact I crossed their thresh Hold to have a Real World Ton on Berty for President @12/1 .My thinking being he is going to get the FF nomonation and if there is a Sf /FF Government he could be the Governments Nomonation and we might even have a Coronation and not an election Like the Good old days when the Park was a reward or a Get the Fuck out of the way Promotion .Any hoo I stuck to my principles of only betting for value not sentiment of distant past or the lull of the Gallic Brogue being missused .I am happy with my 100% success rate and Profit for the Week So its up to yourself and Ken to top my total of 1005 .My success should not discourage both you lads to try harder in your personal head to head joust for the High Pissing Trophy .

Minor corrections to the above:

The second line in the Ayr placepot (Pride Of America) is the 13:50 not 13:15.
The fifth line in the Listowel placepot (Atimetodream) is the 15:55 not 15:20.

... and all stakes should read mythical€...

Apologies, I was under pressure to catch the first selection at Ayr!

My pot stood at €429.30 before the Dundee United game,

and with Dundee United winning adds another €1260,
to bring my current pot up to €1509.30.

Ok Ken I will play give you your victory .I will have 502.50 Ew on Echoes Of Rain @ 17.2 with SKy bet
Echoes In Rain (30)
C T Keane212-83
9   17/2   15/2   11   9   15/2   9   9   17/2   17/2   17/2   15/2   9   9   17/2   15/2   9   9   9   8   9   9   9   17/2      60

7 places a 1/5 of the odds .

Why because it will rain making it a staying race She has grade one hurdle form over further should stay on into a place with a free shot at the win .Represents VALUE especially with 7 places .

And me for real bet wil be a 10 ew on this thing @33/1 ..Naisiun

J: R. P. Cleary
T: J. S. Bolger, Ireland

looks like a carthorse ran 3 times only had about 6 horses finish behind it ,BUT Jim Bolger does not waste entry fees .Stable pilot on this one in stead of the shorter priced one ?

I thought you were not playing !

May I edit my earlier premiership bet ?

(Today I'll have 4 x €100 Trebles and a €4 Quad on the premiership football with Quinnbet;
Liverpool @2/5,
Chelsea @10/11,
Arsenal @4/6,
Newcastle @10/21.)

The overall premiership stake will be the same €404 but in different multiples with the same selections.

I'm taking it that is an actual real bet that you are doing today and not part of the challenge, as you have no funds on here to process that bet ?

That seems a decent offer. I'll have a birra that myself !

I have €250 EW on Echo In Rain in the 4/10 at the Curragh, but I prefer the William Hill's offer of 10/1 albeit with only 6 places.

Bet cancelled is NOT ACCEPTED, it takes both sides to agree on a bet and also to cancel it, and I don't agree to cancel.

By my calculations my pot stands at a very healthy mythical€437.23:

29 @ 9.92 = 253.51 not 254.51 making profit for the day 107.27 not 108.27

329.96 + 107.27 = 437.23

3 x mythical€145.74* win singles @ BSP:

Curragh
15:00 Twilight Jet (3)
16:10 Dawn Rising ( 8 )
16:45 Female Soldier ( 8 )

* amend unit stake to my pot divided by 3 in the highly unlikely event that my calculations above are incorrect.

but still managed to hold on to €505.30 in my final finishing pot.

If you'd waited for my selection in the 4:10 yesterday instead of lumping on to the erm's pick you woulda collected at very decent odds on the place portion... with no need for or reliance upon enhanced place terms which, as you well know, are never going to be laid to the kinda stake you proposed.

An honourable 2nd place for me, anyway. In the words of the late Meatloaf 2 outta 3 aint bad!

It was a game, I had to lump on to his selection to stay within shouting distance of him in case he had a return, in a gambling challenge your playing against your competitors not against the bookies.
