Dublin Airport
A spokesperson wrote on Twitter: “We’re planning for airlines to resume services early tomorrow morning.
“Please check with your airline BEFORE coming to airport.
“We’ll continue to update this feed with latest info. #StormEmma #sneachta #BeastFromTheEast.”

Dublin Airport open....but all flights cancelled!!
-
friend stuck in teneriffe wont get out til Wednesday
-
What's it like in Dublin?...there's 670 jobs on MyTaxi, was gonna head from Drog and clean up!!
-
Roads are bad have a look at the jobs none worth more than a score .The ambassadors must be cherry picking .
-
I'd say so John....MyTaxi should have dropped their commission charges...i'd feel aggrieved paying 12% and 5km drives to jobs!!
-
Is there a logoritm at work I live in Clondalkin but usually work Terenure Crumlin Walkinstown over 600 jobs on offer but not 1 from Clondalkin or Lucan do they only offer you jobs in the area you work and the shite nobody else wants .
-
Depends how far down the pecking order you are:
1) Gold Ranked Ambassador
2) Gold Ranked Scum
3) Silver Ranked Ambassador
4) Silver Ranked Scum
5) Bronze Ranked Ambassador
6) Bronze Ranked Scum
7) Unranked Ambassador
8.) Unranked Scum
If you aspire to be Discounting Scum turn on Whistle. I may well try to virtually whistle for a taxi later tonight myself... every little helps.
-
There's me at No 8.....but i'm from the Northside,i'm black and i'm proud!!

An airport spokesman on the radio this morning got a little offended by this question. He said the airport *is* open but it's the airlines that cancel the flights. So nothing to do with the airport management!

Aircraft have a 20 minute window after de-icing to get off the ground. Safety comes first, if black ice occurs on wings, it's back to the stand for another de-icing.
De-icing is expensive, and extremely necessary. the logistics involved probably negates normal operations.
SIT TIGHT.

Anto nothing to be frightened of I never met anybody who was in a plane crash
And survived
-
Your odds of dying in a plane crash are the same as winning the Irish lottery....
-
They're professionals in the cockpit Tony.
... although the majority of crashes are down to pilot error in one way or another. With ever increasing automation pilots often don't know what to do when something goes wrong and pressures on time/efficiency - keeping to schedules and avoiding penalties for the airline - have been proven to cause them to take shortcuts, occasionally with fatal consequences. One, perhaps relevant, that springs to mind is a couple of pilots trying to deice their wings by weaving across the exhaust of the plane taxiing in front of them to avoid going back to the stand and losing their slot, that plane dropped straight out of the sky after takeoff... food for thought.
-
And some are down to poor maintenance procedures /shortcuts so aircraft can be back in service asap.
-
Indeed but there's a fair chance that none of Tony's flights will crash... hope that helps put his mind at ease.
-
Word has it that 'De Pox' is home safe and well about an hour ago.
I'll be keeping miz eye on the Norwegian Herald fer the next few weeks
to see what trail of destruction he left behind him !

Most Irish people have a few boxes to tick when choosing a holiday destination, one of those is the price of a pint, That’s why there’s not a load of tourists wearing Celtic jerseys in Norwegia .
-
I think it works out at €10 pint, but that's not what I went over for.
In fact I don't recall seen a pub other than the bar in the airport
-
Sure you'd pay 7.60 for a bottle of Bulmers in Templebar.

Oh no I wouldn't
-
I was in Mulligans in Stoneybatter recently and a bottle of some unknown cider was 7.80..Few more years and we'll be paying over a tenner a pint.I remember working in pubs 25 years ago when the Guiness was only about 1.27 in old money.

I remember when the pint went over £1. The publican introduced the half litre glass to keep the price under £1.

Ask for a seat at the back, Aircraft never reverse into mountains! 8)
-
I travelled with some nervous fliers a couple of years back. Having researched the issue they concluded that the safest seats are in the middle of the aircraft beside the wings... seemed odd to me as that's where the engines are but sitting there seemed to relax them a little.

I'm sure Mr Catcher or some other accomplice of yours would be delighted with a carton
fer 70 yoyo's as they cost about 120 in the local shop.

Your EU limit is Two cartons per person.
