She took a photo of the roof sign and tried to report it but she was told that there were 6 different Africans registered on that car so it's impossible to pinpoint the perpetrator. We all know that's absolute bolloxology but average wouldn't know any better, sounds like a cover up to me.

Reminds me of watching a documentary on one of the British channels a while back. A hillbilly detective in the US who was participating in an investigation of a case he failed to solve many years ago came out with "D N A, in my time I never heard of those letters together" prompting my younger young lad to ask, and?

My rural grandparents had shit lives & my parents did slightly better. My parents, my siblings & I benefitted from being in the EU.

I don't think exposure to other cultures necessarily dilutes our own. In fact, the contrary could be true. I'm seriously considering having a go at learning the fiddle... the idea came to me at a Muslim wedding when the father of the bride introduced some of his cultural songs and dances and went on to invite any of the Irish guests to perform. There weren't too many there (well there were a few more in the bar, the reception room was "dry") but none had anything to offer. It woulda been great craic to knock out a reel on a fiddle or some such. Aside from that there's a weekly session down town that's open to anyone who wants to join in, could be good craic but I wouldn't want to make a fool of myself 'cos I know most of the regular musicians.

I doubt the NTA would be so flippant as to fob off a sexual harresment claim
with; "There is Six or Seven men sharing this plate".
If'n she had reported sexual harressment to the NTA and the Gardai properly,
then she would have got what she and all of us wanted, an investigation and
possibly a conviction if her story was true.
If her story is true then she has her cousin and the pizza shop staff as witness's.

You are not entirely free to practice your religion. There have been a few recent incidents where people were verbally attacked while coming from mass in the procatheral simply because they were mass goers

Most people stopped going to church long before any abuse scandals broke.I haven't attended church regularly in about 27 years.As soon as I figured out it was a scam I moved on and bought a Nintendo..Todays kids probably prefer Ipads.
Saw the pope on the N2 coming in from the Airport on Sunday with no crowds because they didn't advertise it.Just another Skoda.It just seemed a bit odd with all the flashing lights being protected by armed police.

There's no option on the census for non-practising roman catholic as far as I remember.I'm technically one but don't practice and filled out the form saying so.Maybe the next census will be more detailed.

I asked my folks over 20 years ago why is Jesus’s death on a different day every year yet my grandmother (RIP) was on the same day every year they couldn’t answer it so that was my catalyst to being a non believer in religion.

As regards, modern da christening, communions, confirmations and getting married in a church, it’s mostly to do with tradition, respect for the grandparents, and to get a child into schoool(although this has now been banned)

Jesus' death is tied in with the Jewish Passover which is the first full moon after the vernal equinox....and there was an entirely different calendar back then...and the church just copied and pasted every Pagan festival...Saturnalia, being the biggest one.
