Her what runs my gaff complains that the brown bin was not lifted yesterday so she rings Thorntons girl in Thorntons appologises and says she will see if the truck can pick it up ,next day she rings back and says that they have looked at the camera on the truck and the truck passed out gaff at 8.20 and the bin was not out .How many other people are running CCTV who is watching you .

Probably to stop the lads on the truck taking backhanders and waste from their mates.According to something I heard recently on the radio they're also filming what comes out of yer bin so that yer not putting Grey bin waste into the green or brown.
The camera also help with identifying any fault if the truck takes someone's mirror off or kills some cyclist etc...

Recent high profile murder case was all about CCTV I know 2 people on my road have CCTV on their houses pointing out on the road .I often wondered if you killed somebody how hard it would be to get away with dumping the body ,seems there is CCTV everywhere .You or I working a shift must be filimed a few thousand times a Night

There's a new doorbell that has an integrated camera in it that notifies yer mobile and records who was at yer door.Most gaffs will have them in a few years.Right now its an expensive gadget but they'll get cheaper.

Panda photograph the contents of the bin as it's emptied. You get a weakly worded letter if you put shite in one bin that should have been in a different bin.
On a broadly related note, perhaps more relevant to our trade, a colleague told me he spotted what he suspects to be an undercover Garda driving a taxi, taking photos and talking into his sleeve and such like. Of course I suggested that, in this technological age, there are plenty of other explanations for such behaviour, both rational and irrational but (strangely, as he's a Nokia carrying luddite) he looked up the driver and gave me his badge number which was in a strange format, a format that was brought tao my attention by another colleague some time ago and within which there are about 10 badges.

Wouldnt surprise me at all.Id say they're using other types of vehicles to blend in too.I won't post what I saw but deffo think its happening.I doubt our crowd would bother putting flashers on the cab though.
