Here is a smartarse bet if you fancy it .Will there be a hard border in 2019 ..The betting is 1/10 May will lose the vote on her deal ,if that happens then the UK leave on 29th of March that is already voted on. Powers are betting 7/1 Hard Border.Border is defined as physical customs/identity checkpoints to be operational along the land border between The Republic and Northern Ireland. EU or UK must confirm before settlement. .If the UK crash out then the terms of business are WTO this WILL require a Border .My mate has quoted to wire up portacabins in Monaghan for Revenue .That clearly meets powers definition of physical customs /identity /checkpoints .So if you think the brits will crash out then 7/1 a hard border is great value .If the do crash out then there is no transition period Customs and barriers go into action at midnight on 30th .Even if the customs drive around doing random checkpoints that meets powers definition of hard border its dosent need barricades or barriers to qualify .

Turkeys dont vote for general elections .DUP wont support the shinner Appologist Corbyn so nochance of a vote of confidence being won .
Read Powers definition if there are even mobile Customs checks that qualifies under their definition .Its 1/10 Mays Deal fails if that happens then Parliament has already voted they leave on 29th .If that happens then at Midnight WTO rules apply and Customs checks automatically go into action .Effectivly you are getting 7/1 about something that will happen if the 1/10 shot happens .Effectivly you are getting paid 70 times over value for the same bet .

Here is the Backstop conundrum .The Gay Foreigner and his European whoremasters say .The backstop is there to prevent a Hard border between Ireland and Norn Eireann but by default a No deal Brexit means at Midnight on the 29th if the UK drop out then there is an automatic customs border .between Ireland and Norn Eireann .Now both the Gay Foreigner and the Euro Gastappo say they dont want a border .So how do they prevent a border if the UK crash out when I say Crash out I mean decide to exercise their democratic right to leave .How long before the Gay Foreigner is seen for the retard he really is .
-
I see your point John and it is a good point, but as betting goes it is as Ropey as Fook, as in there is a lot of intricacies in the betting rules and regulations, anyway PP will most likely only take a Single Euro bet on this market, so don't be blowing all your Man City 9-0 money too fast !
-
Ken when you cut through the bull shit ,its simple .Britain are leaving there are only two ways to leave .With a deal or without a deal .If there is a deal they have two years to finalise the arrangement if they dont then they dont crash out they exercise their democratic right to leave and do so under World Trade Organisation terms and conditions and that means customs checks .When the Gay Foreigner and Tessy say no hard border they only mean no permanent infrastructire .and thats not Paddy Powers interpretation .Its now 1/33 Tessys deal fails so they leave with no deal .Im betting on no barriers but both Ireland and the UK announcing customs checks .Here is Paddys definition (physical customs/identity checkpoints to be operational along the land border between The Republic and Northern Ireland. EU or UK must confirm before settlement. )
-
It's a Quagmire John, what exactly is the difference between "Customs check's" and "Physical customs/Identity checkpoints" ?
Either way PP won't accept anything over a Fiver on that market, so you are only wasting your time.
-
Powers laying a new bet 6/1 Britain leave without a deal in March .Has to be worth a few ton .WHY Tessy says britain are leaving .The papers are all suggesting second referendum or new deal but two things that wont or cannot change .No matter what deal there will be a backstop so if she goes for that then the DUP bring her government down so they drop out automatically as that is what Parliament voted for leave on March 29th .
The second thing is European elections in May have to go ahead .The writ for those elections is already posted with extra seats for countries to make up for the loss of British Members .So the only way those elections will be canceled is if Britain decide to remain .
So you are now getting 6/1 that Britain leave as there is really no chance of a deal without the DUP collapsing Mays Government and she wont do that .
-
There will be no Brexit, there will be a Second referendum to allow the 'Tattooed scum' who all voted 'Rule Brittania' the First time around to come to their senses. When they hear that their Welfare cheques might go down, they won't be long changing their minds.
-
not sure Ken but 6s is worth a bet ,as I see it there are only two options They leave without a deal because any deal means a backstop and the DUP wont stand for that ,They are not afraid of a general election as they all have safe seats .Or they have to back down and cancel aricle 50 to have a second referendum that will only create more problems .The big decision maker is If they dont do Brexit will the Brexiteers run Riot in Britain that is a real risk but more important is Britain love rules that is why the EU dosent suit them they obey unlike us who ignore any rule we dont like .British Democracy is based on the sanctity of the ballott box and the rule of law and they must be respected for that .Think of it this way If there was a border poll and the leave vote won with 51% you can be sure the Parliament would respect that vote the same would apply to Scottish Independence .I think in the long rum the British Government will respect the vote and leave and the only way they can do that is with no deal .
Not since Oliver Cromwell have the Brits ignored the voters unlike this country who have no respect for voters as can be seen by some parties refusal to deal with constitutionally elected members of Dail Eireann.or accept referendum results .I think the House of Parliament which is the Father of All Parliamentry democracies world wide cannot ignore the will of the people .One of Britains big complaints about the EU is its lack of accountability so I cant see any other result except a general election where the brexit question is in the manifesto but May wont call an election and Labour cant force one .

EU STATEMENT ...HARD border on the island of Ireland is inevitable if the UK crash out of the European Union, it has finally been admitted.
A spokesperson for the European Commission today said that in a no-deal scenario “you will have a hard border”.

Gamesmanship and the forcing of hands. Pity Bertie wasn't still claiming those 4 pensions.

Gamesmanship and the forcing of hands. Pity Bertie wasn't still claiming those 4 pensions.
Just think about that statement .The EU say they will ignore the free movement clause in the Internationally recognised treaty and impose a hard border on the Island of Ireland .And you wonder why the Brits want out .
-
I did think about it. Do you know how many pensions Mandelson has?
-
Seems an amazing double standard .They want the Brits to respect the Good Friday agreement and freedom of movement but the EU will ignore it .

-
Going back tobetting EU say there will be a border so for health and safety reasons while they fit barriers to the chunnell will they close it down .10/1 was 16/1 .Two options for UK crash out or second election a second election will result in street battles riots .The favourite must be leave without a deal that way the Conservative party is reunited as one and they can blame the people who voted leave for any slowdown in the economy as they were only following voters instructions If you could actually get a bet on you would have a few thousand on FF being the biggest party after the next election .Brexit will destroy FG and the Gay Foreigner .

Did Patrick Power just make a small mistake ..Will there be a 3rd Meaningful Vote before 30-03-2019? - Will there be a 3rd Meaningful Vote before 30-03-2019?
Yes @4/1 Tuskjust said if there is no vote there is no extension .A Third vote is a certainty .It just says a meaningful Vote does not say it has to be Tessies Deal .Had a few quid on and they cancelled the offer afterwards .

I fucked up got 40 on @4/1 but threy offered me a boosts that is where i can boost the odds on offer so I got 9/2 that there WILL be a 3rd vote .Then they suspended the betting and reintroduced it the correct way around 1/5 Yes there will be a vote and 4/1 no .I decided I would look at Betfair as they are both the same company and they were still offering the wager in reverse so logged in and had 500 @4/1 but the three digit number on my card has changed for this account so I had to add a new card and then when I went to post the bet they had corrected the mistake .

May is a remainer has she just forced TDs reject her deal by insulting them. She said she wouldne accept as PM an extended deal so will she hold the vote then introduce a SI to delay Brexit then Resign saying the unruly children refused to impliment the will of the people and she tried her best .I dont know how the Brits will act if they feel they are being shafted .

AND THEY MIGHT PULL THE PALPABLE ERROR RULE ON YOU,

16. Errors & Suspected Errors
16.1. Paddy Power makes every effort to ensure that no errors are made in prices offered or Bets accepted. However, human and/or systems’ error may occasionally result in errors.
16.1.1. Paddy Power reserves the right to correct any obvious errors and to void any Bets placed where such have occurred.
16.2. In the case of any blatant errors in prices transmitted (including for example where the price being displayed is materially different from those available in the general market and/or the price is clearly incorrect, depending on all of the circumstances), Bets will be settled at the correct price at the time of acceptance (or the Starting Price in the case of horse-racing, whichever is the greater). If a Bet is accepted by us on an event where offering a price on the event itself (rather than the price) was in error, the Bet will be void and your stake will be returned.

@ Ratcatcher, I just seen this in the PP rules section, it's total bullshite, gambling debts are not recoverable by law.
It's just bully-boy tactic's to deter charge-backs.
17. Charge-backs and Cancellation
17.1. You hereby agree, warrant and represent that no charge-backs or other cancelation of deposits will be made relating to your Account without our consent. In the event of any of the foregoing occurring, you agree to indemnify us and hold us harmless against any costs, claims, damages and expenses arising in connection therewith and to refund and compensate us for any losses we would otherwise incur arising from such actions including any expenses incurred by us in the process of recovering such amounts.

Gentleman's agreement , they don't have to pay you fcuk all
-
Not quiet, you don't have to pay them, but they must pay you (subject to their rules) if they refuse to pay on a winning legit bet then the customer can object to their annual bookie licence renewal and also to their annual suitability of personal fitness to hold a bookmaking licence.
But as most firms are based over sea's in mainly Malta or Gibralta that could be a bit of a trek, but it can be done.

No, not really, if they pissed me off enough (and as a former bookie/odds compiler/bookie rule book maker I know gambling law inside out) I would take them on. What ever gaming authority licences them, then they have someone to answer to. The same as if we act the maggot, then we must answer to the NTA or else we don't get our licence renewed.
Bookies know this but very few punters do, so to stay within the rules bookies seldom refuse bets but just offer reduced stakes or odds, or restrict or close certain accounts without refusing a bet.

Interesting Ken, will hold this in reserve if the need ever arises
-
Unlikely it ever will happen STC because the bookies stay within the confines of the rules, reducing stakes and odds and they always have the palpable error rule fer bets like John M posted above.
The rules aren't loaded in anyone's favour, they are there to seek Fair Play, the problem is that no one wants to Play Fair !
-
Its only a 40 euro stake Ken .Tried the sportsbook with an old card but card was invalid so probably marked their card without getting on they changed the odds around .

They could and might pull the 'Palpable Error' rule but fer the sake of the 180 winnings, most likely they will swallow it rather than take their chances on you knowing gambling law and how to object to their licence.

Gambling debts aren't legally enforceable in Ireland and the UK... they are in Malta. For Irish customers "PPB Counterparty Services Limited is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority to offer Games, Sportsbook, Virtual Games and Tote under license number MGA/CRP/131/2006, issued on 01/08/2018". However, both credit card issuers (banks) and gambling firms seem reluctant to test the legality of where the transaction occurred in Irish courtrooms. Notably, PPB Counterparty Services Limited is obliged to pay duty in Ireland on bets struck with clients in Ireland.
You'd have absolutely no chance of successfully objecting to it's Maltese licence. They pay big money for it for a reason i.e. it's a licence to do exactly as they please. If you were in the UK you would have some chance as for UK customers "PPB Entertainment Ltd, PPB Counterparty Services Ltd and PPB Games Ltd are licensed and regulated by the [UK] Gambling Commission to offer Games, Sportsbook. Virtual Games and Tote".
-
I wouldn't be too sure of all that Stephen, most likely it never has and never will be tested, because PP, Etc. stick to the rules and restrict bets rather than refuse them and they pay out accordingly on legit winning bets.
What I was saying to you earlier (post number 34) was that they have No legal jurisdiction over charge-backs in the ROI, but their rules seem to imply that not only could they get the charge-back cancelled, they could also bill you fer the cost involved in doing it, that is total bull shite, been there, got the T-shirt !
-
What are you not sure of?
There are several potential reasons for it not being tested in court... if that is the case. I suspect it is because of a Joe Duffy show several years ago which covered a case where an addict had done a small fortune on a credit card. Being at the end of his tether he explained to the bank that he can't pay and that he'd have to explain his addiction and the measures he had taken to tackle it when the case comes to court. The bank took the lead in getting the gambling firm to refund some of the money lost and it wrote off the rest. That's not to say they haven't pursued other cases where gamblers simply didn't mention the ultimate source of the debt in court or, indeed, reached out of court settlements.
There's nothing to prevent paddypower or anyone else pursuing money it believes it's owed. The fact that a debt is not legally enforceable doesn't mean they can't ask for it. In fact, they or a firm of debt collectors can (and probably do) send solicitors letters threatening legal action regardless of whether they actually intend to take that action. In the UK a person can issue a cease and desist letter in respect of a debt that isn't legally enforceable but (to the best of my knowledge) there is no such provision in Irish law.
-
REAL REAL SMART ARSE BET ..What is the legal definition of Meaningfull vote ....The "meaningful vote" is the parliamentary vote under the terms of Section 13 of the United Kingdom's European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, which requires the government of the United Kingdom bring forward an amendable parliamentary motion at the end of the Article 50 negotiations between the government and the European Union in order to ratify the Brexit withdrawal agreement.[1][2]
So any amendable motion brought forward by the Government in relation to Brexit exit has to be voted on and constitutes a MEANINGFULL VOTE as defined by statute .Nowhere does it say Mrs Mays deal is the only meaningfull vote .
-
What are you not sure of?
I'm not going along with your idea that if PP refuse to pay me out on a legit bet, that I; "have absolutely no chance of successfully objecting to it's Maltese licence", I don't agree with that.
-

TTBOMK there is in Irish law, a law which restricts how many times a bank/moneylender can contact a debtor per week/month.
Either way, if you shaft PP, Etc. on chargebacks, they can do as they please, Fook their postal mail in the bin and block their calls and emails, they can threaten all they want, no Irish court will rule on a Gambling debt.
-
I don't think they would refuse to settle a legit bet... but they won't take a bet if you have a history of withdrawing more than you lodge to your account.
There are a lot of restrictions on deb collectors including on how often they may telephone you. An interesting relatively new one is that they cannot call to your door without an appointment. Those who know the law will ignore them or tell them to sling their hook but there are plenty out there who don't know the law, they're the ones who are likely to pay after a solicitors letter or twenty.

That charge-back scam is still on-going in my head, it would need about 2.5K per person to join in and I have a person in mind with a bad credit history who prob wouldn't mind opening a new bank account and a few bookie accounts if they were looked after fer a few quid.

Smartarse Bet .Tessy said she is off but what if there is a general election to sort out the shit .Paddy is betting on next PERMANENT Prime minister .Jeremy Corbyn is 9/1 if there is a general election Labour would only be 1/1 to win makes Corbyn massivly overpriced ,worth a sporting bet .
-
Smart arse bet, if I could get on at 100/1 ?
Mayo to win AI Football championship up to 2025.
Tessy May to leave or be fired as PM by end of April 2019.
John Delaney to leave FAI completely by end of April 2019.
Donny T to complete his US/Mexico wall by end of 2025.
Jose Mourinho to manage a Winning Champions league team up to 2025.
-
Well, I'm not interfering in anyone else's posts here, I hope, but expected prices for Mayo and Tyrone are between 10/12-1 to win Sam....that's crazy in my opinion, as the Dubs are burnt out. I've been to 3 of their 4 away games and all home games...and they're jaded and all over the place.
I think Mayo or Kerry will win this yrs contest with Donegal a huge 14/1 now......the last time they(Donegal) stopped the Dubs was in 2014 and they were 12/1 for that specific match. Dubs have won 10 out of 12 of the last comps-both league and Sams............their appetite is gone and they look exhausted.
-
I think Tessy has played her Joker .If her deal does not pass there is no other deal on the table so Nobody else is going to want to be PM .I think she might hold on until November when the Tory Party will put down another no confidence vote in her leadership she loses her job in November but it takes about two months to elect a new leader .I think she might be there until next year .
Mayo are perpetual losers I would Prefer to bet on Cork to win an All Ireland before Mayo .
The Wall will never be compleated ,it will only be built in high unemployment areas .
See Paddy cut the odds on Jose managing Everton .

Tessy just fucked a handgrenade into the vote .She is going for a 3 rd vote .My money says if it fails then she goes for a General Election with most Tories having voted for it .And using that as her election manifesto .If that happens Labour should win that election 9/1 Jereny Corbyn to ber Prime Minister is overwhelming value .

I covered me Deuce bet on the Yes vote fer a 2nd Brexit referendum.
I lodged a Nifty with 888.com last week and pricked about with a few hot pot football teams and then backing hot pot tennis players who were a set and a break up eventually turning the Nifty in to 263, I withdrew the 250 and now stand at 'A Touch to Nothing' on the 2019 Brexit bet which I don't really fancy anymore with the long extension date.
