If the robot taxis use MyTaxi's non-taxi version of Google Maps, it could be a bonus for us meatsacks because we know where taxis can go and we'll be cheaper.  The Bermuda Triangle around D'Olier St/College Green/Westmoreland St etc as an example
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

google maps is not grand. i had a fare organised sunday for 11.20am. got a call about another decent run to somewhere i normally wouldnt be. google told me the trip would take 45 minutes each way, if it did, i would have been at least 30 minutes late for my fare at 11.20 am. the trip that was supposed to take me 45 minutes each way only took me 25 minutes max each way. i got back in time to get diesel before the 11.20 pick up. i wasnt driving fast either.

Google maps is grand.
No, it's not, I had a MyTaxi job last night fer a local lass going home after work from the Eastern side of Cork city going to the Western suburbs, Google was directing me on to the Link road and showing at 10 minutes to arrival, but in my heart of hearts I could not take that route because I knew it would add at least another 7 to 8 Euro on to the fare, rather than going through the city which then showed at 12 minutes to arrival.

Most of those are down to the inability to establish precise location through triangulation of mobile signals, SB. If you have a clear GPS signal location accuracy is much improved and if you type the location into Google Maps it will direct you to the correct location.

Your issue is down to mytaxi, Ken. If you use the Google Maps application it will show the various alternative routes with distance and ETA for each. From there you need to pick the one that suits you best. However, if you're driving a mytaxi client you're probably best advised to follow the directions mytaxi select for you.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
