Bertie never had a bank account, just a paper bag and he had no problem taking all kinds of payments.
Ha!  I remember the tribunal.  He said he used to cash his Govt salary cheque in Fagans.  In today's money, the Taoiseach earns about €20,000 a month before tax.  Imagine walking into Fagans and trying to cash, say, a €12,000 cheque (after tax?)  :o  :o  :o  No wonder he wore an anorak so often - you'd need deep, deep pockets...

I've never seen one of these MyPOS cards but am I the only one who thinks 'Piece of Shite' instead of 'Point of Sale' when they see POS?

What if his wife bought a card reader and "lent" it to him?  He could use that machine and still maintain he doesn't own a machine/bank account?  I wonder would that compromise be ok with everyone?
Any takings on MyPos you can withdraw immediately from any ATM. Sumup, you get paid the next week. But sure, each to their own.

Sumup pay into my N26 account in 2-3 days. I woulda thought it'd be quicker if you take their card.

Maybe 100 will be the new 50 in a few years with all the inflation stuff.I had to break one and decline one as I didn't have enough change.I keep meaning to get one of those counterfeit detection pens.
This is what the blind use these days;

There's none so blind as them that can't see.

I've had to buy €15 worth of diesel twice in the last couple of weeks to re-establish a float after breaking two fifties on the bounce for mickey mouse fares. The immigrants in the garage can't even break a note for you these days 'cos the machines just spit out the change for each transaction.

What do ewes leccy boys buy when you need change?

Recently I had to break two €50 notes in a row in the pub just to gather a bit of a float. The barman was probably annoyed but he didn't say.I had lots of fivers and tenners up until two weeks ago and they all just disappeared as change within days.Usually doesn't happen that way.

Some folks will say have you got change of a fifty or would you prefer to take card.

I haven't been into a bank branch in a couple of years. It doesnt help that they keep closing their branches.I also closed my Bank of Ireland current account after 40 years as I wasnt getting any value out of it.Instead I signed up for an Aer card.At least I'll be getting something back for €6.50 a month. But that's another topic.

I use N26. No fees but the only way to lodge cash is by going into Paddypower and paying it into your Betfair account, then instantly transfer it back to Revolut/N26 and/or between them as required.

Revolut can work as a bank too. I have one of those accounts that I mainly use for gambling or collecting the odd fare - you could print your QR code from the Revolut app and dispay in your car to encourage folk to pay that way (commission free) if you had sufficient enthusiasm. In China you pay for nearly everything by scanning Wechat or Alipay QR codes! Also, you could pay a monthly free for Revolut Prime - I got a free trial but never kept it - at c.€8 and with that you get a free VPN which you could use to watch BBC iPlayer, ITVX and such like!

Im suspicious of any banks getting involved in the crypto space. That includes N26 and Revolut which I have already.Maybe that's  why I'm not a crypto millionaire yet.I still have an AIB account for the remainder of the mortgage which gives me free banking as long as the Mortgage account is active.

Revolut is still my favourite one as it's such a nice app to use.I never leave much in it though as I've read so many stories of them temporarily blocking accounts but so far so good.Having a physical office I can find on the North Wall gives me some sort of peace of Probably full of empty chairs but it looks good from the outside.

Good tip about lodging the cash RC.It might come in handy in the future.

None as yet. Funny enough, while in Bonifacio Mrs. Bullet said "can you check the car over the interweb regarding battery degradation seeing as I'd the CCTV on sentry mode?" I said of Corsican!

I did, and there was still a 420kms range @80% charge then, and when we arrived home. Remember when some benzina evaporated if you were away on an extended holiday?

Regarding the CCTV. great in Sentry Mode, and Parking Mode for the duration. The downside it that this is Ireland, so, cold and wet, therefore rain obscures the windscreen, and at night time, condensation inside and outside blurs the vision.

Daytime, the view is crystal clear inside, outside, and behind. At night time the black and white IR camera is faultless.

I just received my stickers reminding punters they on camera (no audio), and a sticker reminding arseholes behind they're on camera too.

The gas thing is  Temu sent an unwanted sticker saying LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE. DON'T BE A CUNT.

Do you want it? 8)
