I've never seen one of these MyPOS cards but am I the only one who thinks 'Piece of Shite' instead of 'Point of Sale' when they see POS?

What if his wife bought a card reader and "lent" it to him?  He could use that machine and still maintain he doesn't own a machine/bank account?  I wonder would that compromise be ok with everyone?

I think he might be a bit of a smartarse .He says he has Two working card readers but how can they work if they are not connected to a bank ?I think we have an Enoch .If I was a betting man .I think the Taxi thingey will possibly just send a copy of the Regulations to the Judge without comment .Judge will say well you are not bound to hold a taxi if you do not want to and you are not entitled to a renewal if you do not meet ALL the requirements .He might then drive a Limo or Hack where no bank account required .Dont think he can win this arguement .

Dublin buses can't accept cash.

Since When The last time i got the bus I paid 10p in Cash .
Now that I remember maybe it was that he couldn't give me change of a fiver, and said that his job wasn't worth it to keep the fiver., and I had no coins so he couldn't charge me but took me anyway. Last time I tried was on Merrion Square at about 7.30 am

I’d say it was his fellow taxi drivers that hung him out to dry.

More likely he thinks he's the king of the gang on the rank as they egg him on whilst not realising they're laughing at him behind his back.

Dunno.  I've only been offered one once in my life and I had no idea if it was fake or not.  The guy was posh so I assumed it was real  lol

Maybe 100 will be the new 50 in a few years with all the inflation stuff.I had to break one and decline one as I didn't have enough change.I keep meaning to get one of those counterfeit detection pens.

Think the UV light yokes are better, got one on Temu after I had been stuck with a forged €50. Useful in the case where you have time to check a note, but in my case he was already outside the car, and handing me the folded note through the back window opening, and away with him.... Sandyford to Kilmore FFS.. cnuts!

What if Judge says .There is a Penalty of 250 Euro for non compliance with the Rule .This is ample .You can have a taxi licence but every time you refuse to take a card the penalty of 250 euro may be applied .So the NTA  just fine him every day by hailing him and fining him for refusing .They can then take his house of pension or bankrupt him for non payment of fines legally imposed .

Judge could let him win by making him a loser . Yes it is excessive to remove the mans livelyhood but it is not excessive to impose a fine everytime he breaks the law .ENOCHED

Fair play... wise man. I hope he gets all the way to the Supreme Court to test the constitutionality of removing (intending) citizens' right to legal tender.

I don't think you need a bank account with Sumup though... I recall some junk mail from them offering a Mastercard for spending/withdrawing payments received.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Any takings on MyPos you can withdraw immediately from any ATM. Sumup, you get paid the next week. But sure, each to their own.
