 I'm under the impression this chap is an Accountant and that would suggest he knows how to operate within the confines of the law..all legit so far then? Maybe, it's to get attention away from something else.

I would imagine that they print articles(true) to sell their papers. In BigD's case they are looking for any sort of shit out there to throw at him by the looks of it.

just the redundancy package to be sorted and an agreement that he retains the euafa job then he leaves and gets another plum job as a lobbist for some builder .

I'm not casting asparagus, as the Cavan man said to the priest. He is a qualified accountant, by all accounts....

And at an FAI meeting in 2001, the Waterford United delegate used the term when hitting out at the then chief executive Bernard O’Byrne’s plans to construct a new stadium known as Eircom Park.

At the time, Delaney, who hired Martin O’Neill as Republic of Ireland boss, said: “In my view as a chartered accountant, it’s not a runner now.”

He has also used the term at a number of public meetings, it is understood.

But his membership was disputed by the CAI who publish the name of all members on their website.

CAI Director of Communications Brendan O’Hora said: “We have members named John Delaney, but neither is the FAI chief executive. To be called a chartered accountant, you must be a member of our institute.”

The organisation was unable to confirm if the football administrator had passed the body’s final exams as doing so would contravene data protection rules.

Following a series of questions posed by the Sunday Times, Delaney admitted he was not a member of the CAI but had the necessary qualifications to do so.
