Ok I read  it now but my point still stands.If you're getting preferential treatment over the other drivers who pay the same money they do not like you.That's just human nature.

It was nothing to do with preferential treatment or Ambassador (as the story is about 6 years old) what I'm saying is that the Two imbeciles who heard my emergency call were either too stupid or too lazy to act on what I said.

So basically as I found out the Hard way, just because you have a Two way radio doesen't mean that anyone is coming to help you if your in a trickey situation.

You posted up here or Roy's place that you used to drop cigarettes into the base or drop the staff home for some reason and recently said you'd be getting airport jobs all night for some other favour.I'd hate to be working with lads like you I met loadsa couriers like that over the years and they're bad for business.If other drivers feel they're not getting a fair portion of the work they disengage and in some cases leave the base.I hardly think I'm telling you something you didn't already know.

Ken is right ,though the assholes should have responded by calling the cops,but it also confirms my ongoing point that work goes out the back door,and the owners of these companies know it,and dont give a fukk .and this is what drivers are prepared to continue to pay a ton plus a week for

Nope ! I never dropped cigarettes to the base fer free, bringing home staff fer free was commonplace but ya got a job back fer it, I used to drop off Double Chocolate Mc Muffins to a base op once upon a time, she was the girl friend of a good mate of mine so nothing a strange was going on there only that I liked her company, the Airport runs back in the day were frequent but a Double Choc Mc Muffin would see them more frequent !

Work going out the back door was the primary reason I left my base after 9 loyal years.
My base, call it Base A, merged/took over/whatever with Base B and kept on a lot of the Base B base op's and base B drivers.
All was not good in the camp with rumours of the nua base B op's looking after base B drivers.

I took it all with a 'Pinch of Salt' as Taxi drivers are generally a Grumbly lot.
Then I got a street pick-up one afternoon heading out to Fota hotel (12km outside Cork), a hotel that we at the time had the contract with so I bell in to the base telling them of my destination and requesting that if anything came in fer Fota to ring me.
I drop off my customer with no phone call from the base only to see another cab from my base racing up the driveway to collect a Fare from the hotel. It was a cab from my own company, but it was a Base B driver and the job was given out by a Base B op. Needless to say I followed it through to the extreme, the base B base op got fired but still it kinda soured me toward any base, after 9 loyal years of service that I had to go through all that.

Gud men are hard to come by, fair play to you Ken for sticking up to your morals, I've never been with a base in 15 years and am glad I didn't have to put up with that sort of shite. I'm now with MYT and is it any different with them and their favouritism towards Hambassadors ?

I was reluctant to stick this up but fuk it...on Saturday afternoon I'm driving passed the Burlo and a job comes in at the Fitzwilliam tennis club(200 meters away)so I take it and have it on the screen waiting for the lights to go green.Still have it when I get up to the next right then I look again and its dissapeared.No beep , no cancellation or record of it in my job history.I see a bloke waiting looking into his phone so I pull up and talk to him.On his phone there's another driver coming so I explain to him that I had that job and it vanished.He says driver 50*** is on the way.So 2 mins later we're talking and a van with ambassador stickers turns up like I expected.

This has happened me before where I get there before the Ambassador car with minutes to spare.How the fuk are these guys better than the traditional radio companies if they're feeding a few drivers and giving the scraps to the rest of us.Bunch of absolute cunts.Does this ever happpen to yis?

Not yet, but there are some very Fckn quick drivers out there with their accept fingr.
This has come up in the past with the hambassrds getting the cream.
As I've or others have said before, better solution is give them a lower rate and lets all play on the same field please.

Lad rang me today to find out why I haven't used it for a while. I just said I hadn't bothered with it - without clarifying that I hadn't bothered working without it either. After a short exchange I think we agreed that there's loads of work on it but it's too expensive with the best drivers paying €300+/week freight.
