It's probably 20% cheaper for new drivers but still expensive.

We'll see if this EU investigation will find if other euro insurance companies were disadvantaged.....i can take a guess and say they were.

Hasn't gone down for me either.

I distinctly remember last year reading an article in the Indo about how insurance had dropped 15% and getting my renewal the very next day.  It'd gone up 500 for no reason (that I could see).  My taxi was a year older (i.e. less valuable) and I was one year more experienced as a driver.

That crowd called insurance Ireland are defo a bit dodgy.I always thought they were there to investigate on behalf of the punter if something was not quite right.I had reason to approach them on 2 occasions in the  past, and on both occasions they said i had no case .I didnt believe yhem then, and I dont believe them now.its them that is being invistigated at the moment by the EU I think

Down way more than 20% since I started. Cost me over 5 grand in real money (punts) back then and that was just as a cosy. Last year was under 2 grand in Euros. No wonder the Pakistanis and Indians are queuing up to be trained by mytaxi... sure the bonus they get for passing the test would cover their first year's insurance.

Insurance Irl are there to ensure the monoply continues....they're being investigated for not letting other EU companies access to the pool of customers..they deny this of course but there was a company called Zenith who complained of this exact practice and they left the Irish market.

But am I right in thinking they are a body who were supposed to act on behalf of drivers ?
