Yes, STC. Hence thousands of drivers with country licences work for mytaxi up above in Dublin.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

And I'm sure they obey the rules about picking up off the street

They don't need to pick up off the street if they work for mytaxi. I can't remember the last street job I done.

Would think taxi sign has to be in the boot for private use
I dunno about that, I remember being breathalysted a few years back and the Lady Garda said to me;
"I see your meter is On so your at the lower level".

Was dropping my chungfella down to a venue that he was playing in ladt night to collect his guitar...pulled in on part of the rank that's rarely used(not on the street where the main rank is) to wait for him to run across the road to the venue....knock on my passenger window....he didn't introduce himself by name but flashed a badge and said taxi regulator....explained i wasn't working(was in workwear and a manky t-shirt),he said the traffic wardens were on the rounds,there were a couple of private cars parked behind me and he was having words with the drivers,he said he'd give me five minutes......i was gone a couple of minutes later...but it got me thinking what powers has he to do anything about the private cars given there was no warden or Garda with him,he probably could have done me for plying for hire as i don't have an LH licence
What type of rank exactly were you on Hal ?
And what has LH licence got to do with it ?
I'm taking it that you do have both Louth and Dublin stickers on your roofie ?

P.S. Hope you enjoyed the weekend away fer the Citreon car owners bash.  ::cheers

It's an official taxi rank albeit around the corner from the front of the rank,extremely rare for taxis to be parked in that section.....i don't have LH or MH stickers....in hindsight i shudda got them back in the day as the area knowledge test consisted of goin into the PSV office in Drogheda Garda stn and answering a few questions,

I did indeed enjoy the bash in the UK....weather was only gorgeous and the car never let me down...cheers!!

Beans.

Ulster Fry beats us/them all. Love those little potato bread yolks they have.
