No money in carpentry .Going to convert a garage and extend it to make living space for our kid to save her 1400 a month in rent .Roof 22x12 Marine ply with two skylights Carpenter asked for 1400 for labour and 180 a pop for door frames and door hanng 240 to fit skirtings .Plasterer wanted 2600 to slab and skin .Son in Law is a Sparks .Im thinking of extending it to the rear Brickie wants 1.20 a block and 20 quid a head or sill with me supplying the Labour .I think im back on me tools do it meself .

14 hundred for labour to lay 12 sheets of ply and chop a few trusses and bridging I would  do it in a morning bit of trimming ,facia drip latt and quadrant two skylights finished and felted before tea .
Starve the tradesman, wha! Never hear the end of it if the tradesman was drivin' yer taxi.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.
