GARDAI fear a gangland bloodbath after a convicted armed robber was shot in a botched hit over the weekend.
Noel Boylan, in his mid-40s, was hit with one bullet in the stomach off the Blakestown Road, near Blanchardstown, west Dublin, on Saturday afternoon.
The attack happened in the same area where Noel's son Lee Boylan was shot ten times and miraculously survived less than three months ago.
As revealed yesterday by the Irish Sun, Noel had been left devastated by the shooting of his son. Bagman Lee will never make a full recovery.
Bully boy Noel believes he knows who carried out that attack on March 6.
Gardai are now bracing themselves for serious reprisals from his associates following the attack on Saturday.
'THERE WILL BE BLOOD'
A source said: "Noel is very well connected and is considered a serious player. His associates will not take this.
"It's only a matter of time before there's payback. There will be blood."
Another source added: "This man is known to gardai.
"He has a number of associates involved in a number of squabbles and serious feuds in the north and west Dublin areas.
"And a number of these individuals will not let this go unanswered."
BOTCHED HIT
Noel ran for his life inside a nearby Lidl store as the assassin's gun jammed on Saturday.
Pictures from inside the supermarket showed him being treated by paramedics, where his torso was bandaged, before he was rushed to hospital.
His condition was described as serious but non-life threatening.
The Irish Sun can reveal crocked Lee, 24, was brought up to his dad for a visit in Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown yesterday, where both men are now being treated.
Cops are hunting for the masked gunman who carried out the shooting in broad daylight. This thug fled the scene on foot and through a nearby estate.
A getaway car was later found burnt out in Millers Glen, Swords, north Dublin.
A major garda presence is in the area as they try and quell the violence in the north and west of Dublin.
Clonsilla man Noel — also called 'Seanie' by pals — is a known associate of exiled cartel boss Christy Kinahan, 63, as well as a number of other gangland figures.
Noel is also a close pal of a man based in Blanchardstown who is the Kinahan cartel's representative there.
Gangster Noel was caged previously for his role in an attempted armed robbery in 2006.
