Empty kesh at 3.50pm today with 46 drivers on the Mytaxi virtual rank.

Lunchtime yesterday...pissing rain and about 100 punters in a Q with their luggage waiting for a non existant taxi at T2...not one Taxi in the taxi lane in sight except on the drop off road inside it which was full of empty cars who had just dropped off and about to leave the port empty, madness.
That's when they're playing Don!

Probably someone struggling to get a cab, when you get them on board all of a sudden it's Oranmore Rd in Ballyfermot and not Galway.

That's Mad !  In Cork airport which is tiny in comparison to Dooblin, the drop off point is across the road from the main rank, so if ya drop off and the main rank is empty or close to empty you can simply join it.
And a lot of passengers from close by suburbs often walk to the arrivals drop-off point to get a Taxi home rather than face an abusive aggressive journey from a driver who is on the main rank and does not want a 15Euro fare.

That seems to be getting a popular trick fer customers, input a long destination and your guaranteed a cab within minutes !
And then; "Opps, sorry about that !".

I didn't get the job, little miss blonde Barbie turned out to be little miss Piggy, she inputed Dublin airport as her destination knowing that the job would be snapped up immediately, she was only going in to town and she haggled fer Ireland the whole way telling a load of lies, then tried paying the 20Euro fare with a Fiver and a load of coins swearing that there was 20 Euro there, when I counted and refused it there was 9.50 there, then she pulled out a Fifty to pay the full fare !
If it's too good to be true Ken.....
I knew taking the job that it was 90% a spoof, but the Doob name Finnegan on the account gave me some hope. As I was around the corner from the job anyway I didn't really care cos I needed a wee and the car needed diesel which would have meant Two stops en route with the pax on-board, still'n'all it would have been a handy one at 1.30am, Two and a half hours up, Two and a half hours back,  No traffic, 30 in diesel, 14 in tolls and about 60 in commission would have cleared me about 400 or 80 an hour.
There are very few Dooblin runs fer Taxies anymore, the Aer coach at a Tenner killed off that very lucrative 'Golden Goose' !

Up here it's guys in yellow coats telling you to fuck the hell off as soon as you drop off and to leave those freezing punters alone as they're nothing to do with you.  ::fds

That's 'Bat-shite' !
Thankfully we don't have guys in Yellow coats telling us what to do in Cork, there is the main rank outside the terminal and a holding rank called 'Pebble Beach' about 200 meters away but no one telling us what to do, every one knows the rules and every one obeys them.

I think if I accepted one of these fake destination jobs and the real job was to a shitty area Id tell the customer no way, I only accepted the job because it suited me or I was going in that general direction so NO get the fuck out.
