Went ice skating last Wednesday while on vacation. With the benefit of hindsight lifting Mrs. Catcher above my head with one arm proved a tad over ambitious given that neither of us are 30 years younger! Don't tell Mrs. Catcher but it's not that painful provided I don't overstretch it, movement is restricted so I can't throw a dart but other than that it's not so bad. In fact it didn't stop me going skiing on Thursday and I only went to the pharmacist after dinner on Thursday night as I thought it was only a pulled muscle. Decided to go to Beaumont yesterday as the gel and tablets didn't improve the restricted movement in the interim, surprised the bone is cracked but it's only a hairline crack and the consultant reckons it'll heal itself by the time of my appointment with the fractures clinic. The muscle damage is likely to take longer to fully heal though.

Were Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley playing in the background?

I thought Skiing was better... the snow park is incredible, add in a light breeze and you may as well be in the Alps... then you walk out to 40C! Only took in the ice skating as we had booked a desert safari for Wed afternoon so went to the mall to kill a few hours in the morning and stumbled (if you'll excuse the pun) across the rink. Unfortunately one, if not the main, reason I wanted to do the desert safari was to go horse riding - I was hoping they'd have one with no name - but on account of my fall I had two settle for sitting on a Camel.

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai was originally called the Burj - Al -Arab.
When Dubai got into financial trouble they asked the Caliph of Abu Dhabi to bail them out, he agreed on condition that the Burj be named after him.

So there - even  Oil Magnates can get into financial trouble.  8)

What's now known as the Burj Al Arab is the only 7 star hotel in the world... typical of the region's bling, I guess.

A Romanian pal was told to hold off buying a krippelvagen as the moratorium on saloon plates will soon be lifted.
NTA have exceeded their target of 10% of the fleet, which  justified the moratorium in the first place.
Anyone worth their salt could  challenge the artificial barrier.
