Have any of ye ever being asked by an insurance company like liberty insurance are you with the taxi app free now one of the questions they asked me when I was looking for a quote, I was a bit pissed about that and I said what the hell does that matter I just want to insure my cab, just give me a quote on based on my driving history. Its all fake shite like axa giving a reduction in price if you are a member of a credit union they don't even look for your credit union book as proof. They try to make you feel that they are giving you a reward they are pack of legal thieving scum.

Liberty give a 5% discount by giving them your driver referral code. It's not worth a bollix because they still come in 30% more than Axa even after the additional discounts.Dont know why they never get close.

Yes, C5.. by Liberty... and when I told them I work for (then) mytaxi they quoted in the region of double what Axa (via Pierce) wanted for a policy with greater cover (NCD protection -vs- no NCD protection).

Of course it matters. One doesn't have to drive far up above in Dublin to see taxis meandering out of control while the drivers are fixated on their tiny telephone screens. In fact I was only watching some shite programme on RTE yesterday during which a participant reported having penalty points for using Google Maps while driving. Obviously Free Now have slipped the orangeman a few quid to turn a blind eye to it's drivers using their telephones but I guess it's only a matter of time before all insurance firms increase premiums to reflect the increased risk.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

@rat catcher, they'll start asking next if your car has a touch screen. The insurance companies are pissing me off big time, absolutely nothing is been done to reel them in. They have a license to operate here and a politician with a set of balls on him should just tell them straight out in plain language to stop taking the piss with the cost of premiums or your license to operate will be withdrawn.

They don't actually want taxi business in Liberty.I've a perfect record of 10 years claims free driving a PSV and they've never gotten close to AXA.I've never claimed off one of their drivers either.

Another thing to remember is they're getting completely robbed by their own recommended repair shops.Me wife's car had a fist size dent on a front wheel arch recently and Ace auto body quoted nearly €1300 to repair it.The folks on the phones don't care or question what anything costs they'll just increase the premiums for the customers to recoup it.Body shops are absolutely coining it.

@mercenary, id just remove wheel arch cover and pop it out if it was a self inflicted tip. The repair shops do pray on peoples automotive ignorance. I'm teaching my fellas a few car repair jobs making them a bit more confident when dealing with big jobs, if they hear a bit of you know what your talking about talk you see a Hugh difference in the way they deal with ya.

If it was my car I'd just leave it but we got a cheaper quote from a place in Blanch for half the price. Insurance paid up in the end.Could not have been more than 2/3 hours work at most.

The last bumper repair on my yoke I did with a kettle of hot water and a brush handle in behind the bumper.Sorted.
