Day work
« on: October 25, 2019, 08:19:00 pm »
How do you guys do it?
NCBI should sponsor the old lads cutting people up, doing dangerous manoeuvres and driving straight ahead at O'Connell Bridge from the left only lane.
One fucktard 18840 was willing to trade paint because he chose the wrong lane.
...that and being unable to drive in the rain...in Ireland!
I'll leave yis to it, that and tariff 1,
Fuck dat!

The rain is poxy alright especially with the cyclists all over the road.Although you are on tariff one the traffic is so shit your getting a little more on the day shift and it's probably not too far off what you lads get for Tariff 2 with no traffic.

Day work is not for the feint hearted.
Lunatics everywhere.
Just presume everyone is in the wrong lane, all the time.
And as MFH says we can still get the same price as drivers at night for certain jobs because of traffic

Not always twice as long. Maybe an extra 10 to 15 minutes from Airport to City. You get to know which routes you can take at what time, what roads are heavier than others at certain times.

I used to do nights and they ain't for the faint hearted either.

It takes some adjusting when going from nights to days and vice versa

Last week I was in a good mood and some respectable looking foreigner flagged me down on Talbot streett around lunchtime for his mate who was sitting on the ground being supervised by another chap.So I tried to do the right thing and get him home to East wall and made sure the drunk guy had someone with him to keep an eye on him.

5 minutes later I'm driving down Ossory road and they're grumbling in Polish and the drunkest guy starts wrestling and punching the other bloke in the back seat.I didn't even stop the car as I was close to the destination. The guy getting punched asked to be allowed out and this seemed to calm the wino down.I wasn't really worried as they were fighting with each other. Eventually got them all out and got 15 quid as an apology as there was only 9 on the meter.Woohoo..

Thought nothing of it until the next customer informed me there was blood on my seats.Cleaned it up learned a lesson...dont pick up piss heads on the day shift.

I wouldn't be as calm if it happened at 3am.Some of us work the days because we'd probably kill one of the customers if we were dealing with that shit every weekend.I like a few pints meself but have zero tolerance for grumpy drunks.Gimme the traffic any day.

No way would I take anyone would could not stand anymore, I used to back in the day but I too learned.
Also no wobblers or holding on to walls/Etc.
Anyone who needs to physically escort someone else to my cab is polietly told; "No, sorry they are too drunk".

You wouldn't see the blood at night time and passengers getting in and out would no doubt be cleaning it with their clobber....might even be lucky to pick up some guy wearing a Hugo Boss slim fit no coinage suit!!

How do you guys do it?
Use FN and stay out in the suburbs!

You're right about College Green (N-->S) though - the sooner they ban us from there, the better...  Even the buses are going kamikaze now and going down the outside lane and pushing in  >:(
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Ya get Fook all fer 1 Silver medal, If'n ya can manage 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes (or better) in a 4 week period then ya get a time advantage on seeing the pre-book list.
Not worth a Fook to me as I don't do pre-books.

Click on your current weekly points at the bottom of your Free now homepage.
Then scroll down to "See weekly scores" click on that.
That will show you your average standing and what level you are currently on.

I'm currently at Silver Ambassador status which puts me at Third place in the pre-book tree, behind Gold Ambassador and Gold non-Ambassador, and just ahead of Silver Non-Ambassador, but this is fer the pre-books only.

Fer instant hails I am almost always top of the tree with Ambassador status and almost always on Priority.
