A team player is believed to have shared the video in a players’ WhatsApp group, which was then shared on social media, an informed source said.
A source close to the County Board said he expects management will meet in the coming days to discuss the issue and possible sanctions against the players involved.
The two players were sent home from New York by their manager, 24 hours before the rest of the squad were due home.
‘They were specifically asked not to do any video stuff or take any videos while they were away, so (the player) breached that request. You had something similar there a few months ago with a player sending videos around,’ the source claimed.

The video, circulated on Twitter and Facebook, shows two young men throwing punches and grabbing one another on a street with skyscrapers in the background.
One of the men falls to the ground after the other appears to throw a punch at him, and a voice is heard shouting ‘stop, stop, stop’.
One of the men in the video is understood to be a former member of an All-Ireland winning panel, while the man who recorded the fight is believed to be an All-Irelandwinner. The other man fighting in the video, and who is pushed over on the pavement, is a fan who travelled to the US with them, it is claimed.
The men are seen ‘flaking’ into one another, a source close to the their county team said.

‘When word of this broke, (the manager) sent the two home early from New York. That is accurate. The (players) were out (socialising) and the two got caught up in this. I don’t know what led to it and (one player) ended up having fisticuffs on the side of the street.
‘It looks terrible.
‘He sent (the two players) home…. I suppose he just wanted to make the point and send them home.
‘There’s a chance these guys are going to get dropped… these things are not helpful,’ the source said.
‘I think supporters are kind of a bit shocked by the whole thing now at this stage.
‘This (video) was widely circulated all over the country. Everyone has seen it, so it’s not going down well, definitely not going down well.
‘It might be a bit of hard luck on the two lads, they’re only young fellas, but still, it’s messy. It’s the talk of the country, and the sad thing about this is these lads could get destroyed in the process. Even though it’s stupid behaviour, they’re bringing the county’s reputation into disrepute and all that.
‘The last punch that left your man on the ground. Wow!
‘He could have seriously hurt him doing that,’ he added.
There have been no report of any serious injuries. However, the source added: ‘It’s the main topic of conversation in (the county) GAA at the moment. It’s disappointing, it’s desperate, and it’s a pity it has happened.’ The source said that any suggestion that management should look at introducing a ban on mobile phones in the camp would be laughed off.
‘You won’t be able to do that, you just won’t be able. (The manager) is disgusted by it though, because he did ask them specifically not to take videos because of what had happened earlier with other players previously.
‘Thankfully, nobody got hurt,’ he said. ‘This will entirely cast a shadow… The (players) are bound to be down and out over the whole thing,’ he said.
A County Board spokesman said they had ‘no comment’ to make.
One of the players’ clubs said that it had no comment to make and he had not had a chance to discuss the controversy with the player. The player who recorded the video was at his home last night and had no comment.
