VRT Illegal
« on: December 03, 2019, 07:00:43 pm »
RTE.ie: Used car imports exceed 100,000 for the second year.
https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2019/1202/1096481-new-car-registrations-up-in-november-simi/
Under E.U law it's illegal, but the Irish Government has found it cheaper just to pay the fine.

Damn faceless bureaucrats in Brussels, that'll learn them.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

It’s illegal for temporary imports, not permanent imports

Wtf does the price of a car in another EU country have to do with whether VRT is legal or not?

I remember the original EEC vote people thought if we joined the EEC we would pay the same as England for food ,smokes and beer .Dont know why you all focus on VRT we pay the highest cigarette and beer tax/duty in Europe we even pay VAT on Tampons have some of the highest stamp duty on homes PAYE worker earning 1000 a week pays about 40% tax if you include income tax Social Charge ,PRSI leaves him with 600 when he spends that he pays 21% VAT on everything thats another 126 euro in tax that leaves him 474 after tax provided he dosent buy Fuel ,Smokes ,Gargle which all carry big Duty and Excise In reality a fella earning a grand a week and spending it is paying about 66% in one sort of tax or another .You pay VRT to REGISTER your Car you also pay LRT Land REGISTERY TAX when you buy a house .Wait till Brexit happens and the EU come after our corrupt tax robbing scumbag government and stop us robbing the worlds taxes .When you tell your grankids there was a time we didnt pay tax on water or air .I can see it now your kids and their kids and their kids all living under your roof and you telling them .I remember the first time I had to pay for air and water it was in the Garage for my car .You had already paid for the car and the fuel and paid tax on it then they wanted you to pay for air and water then the Government thought thats interesting if they will pay for air and water for the car shure they will pay for air and water for themselves .VRT is the least of our taxes .

I go to Tesco and/or Lidl at least twice a week. Maintaining a body like mine takes effort.

I'd say a bookies docket hidden in his sock is all he goes home with... none of his hard earned is putting food on the table!
