I cant make any sense of the calculators...Erm your bollixed.Either stop gambling or start working hard and enjoy it now or forget about it.

Sometimes I go to those kid free hotels on me holidays and there are lots of retired cocoon looking feckers hobbling around the place and nodding off during the entertainment and dinner times.

I think having loads of money in retirement is a bit of a waste.Enjoy it now while you're able is my advice.

See Merc I gamble for entertainment a few tenners here and there but if you want to make coin out of sports betting you treat it like a real job .ExampleI told Dalymount that the Brexit party could not win a seat in the British election .The odds of them not winning was 5/6 that was an absolute certainty as you would need at least 33% of the vote to get a seat in a first past the post system .The Conservatives were 2/5 to be the largest party that was also a certainty .The problem is getting the bookie to take the coin a couple of grand on either would contrubute nicely to your pension pot .Dublin to win Leinster Football next year is a certainty .It dosent matter what price it is if you can get cash on .Remember your investor who invests your pension pot are only doing the same thing but with stocks, shares and currencies .

I don't gamble, thankfully.I also don't worry about my pension because I have none.Other shit to be concerned about like clearing the mortgage and buying another taxi soon.Different priorities.

Your blessed to have no mortgage Ermy.If retirement is a real concern for you start working and saving.

Pension providers gamble with your money John,if they don't perform they still take a % of your loss, don't provide any data but cover themselves with the "value may rise or fall" bollox.....there should be no gamble with a pension.....i'm sure plenty of folk who paid into a pension all their lives only to be told on retirement that their pension took a battering in the last year....i'd settle for a comfy mattress any day!!

Those who make a modest profit already qualify for Govt contributory pension and even those with insufficient profit can subscribe voluntarily. Any matching of premiums paid into private schemes by Govt would have to be financed through a licence fee increase. That would, of course, also serve to discourage the part-time amateur scum.
