Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
The shooting, which happened at around 3am this morning, caused extensive damage to a house in Brackernagh.
Gardaí say that the owner of the house was sitting in the front room when she heard two loud bangs at the time of the shooting. The porch doors and front door of the house were damaged in the incident, as was a van that was parked in the driveway.
No one was injured in the incident.
Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who was in the Brackernagh, Ballinasloe area between 2.30am and 3am. Anyone with information is asked to contact Balllinasloe Garda Station on 090-9631890, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
