Sorry to hear about your sister Hal.
My own sister has cancer too, fully treatable and should make a full recovery.

I’ll tell you all, cancer is inside all of us. It just sits there and then something sparks it off.
Pancreatic Cancer took my father a few years ago. Twas caught early enough, but still inoperable and all treatments failed. Man never smoked in his life but was a spray painter. Maybe it was all the chemicals in the paints and stuff that he used that activated his, but then again, he was retired 16 years before the diagnosis.
Maybe it’s what’s in the food these days, too much processed shite we eat if you ask me
Very common illness in aviation whether exposed to Genklene or aircraft paint.

Maybe it is, but it took a long time to develop after he left the industry, and not working much after his accident in 1989 and getting transferred into the paint(Amos) shop

My sister got it 15 years ago, also only radiation treatment. Still fine today, living in Aukland 35 years now and still playing hockey and Dragon Boat racing in aid of Breast cancer research aged 64. Best of luck to your sister.
