They could of found that out if they read this blog .I said 2.4 Billion and I would bet money I will be nearer than the Board of Management .I see the Canal is still fucked because they diverted the sewer from under the hospital into the Drimnagh main sewer and it burst under the canal .They were warned about that before they granted planning permission but councillors wanted the credit for getting the hospital done before the local elections .Its a fucking disaster no access ,should of been built at Newlands Cross or Blanch ,near the 50 .

Horse a friend of mine was on the Council and he told me the truth .The real reason the Hospital was built where it was built is the council will collect big bucks in tax from the Hospital .If it went to Blanch then Fingal CC would get the windfall .If it went to Tallaght then South Dublin CC would get the money .It was simple money for the council in rates and property related taxes .That was the over riding issue get the tax in to the council. You never read that in any newspaper .

Rome wasn't built in a day... although I can't remember the job or what went wrong.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

The builders get the money then they spend it on taxis and restaurants.I'm sure they're paying massive amounts of tax back to the exchequer so a significant amount of the 2.4 billion will come back to the state. It will be 3 billion by the time it's finished. From what I hear in they car they guys running the show aren't up to the job.And they're struggling to get good men for the right money.

Its a sinking ship Merc nobody wants to be Captain .It was Berties Vanity Project at the Matter then became Endas and the WiFi is Leos Vanity project.Harneys vanity was the HSE .Charlies was the IFSC ,all these vanity projects will cost the tax payer in the end .The Brits have Big Ben going to cost hundreds of millions to restore and gillions on a new high speed rail link that goes from here to there where nobody want to travel .

When it's finished it will be forgotten how expensive it was.Thirty years from now they'll probably need a couple of other hospitals near Dublin.I suppose we should be thankful it's a hospital and not another Google site. They're buying everything and they're running out of space.

Merc dont be surprised if its not finished and only part opened .I said this before and ill say it again BREXIT will fuck us .Then the OECD will introduce a digital tax and the EU a unified tax rate making us bankrupt .Then the suicide note we wrote a few years ago The Fiscal Treaty will come back to haunt us .

I wish the word billion could be banned.  €2.4 billion doesn't sound a lot but it's actually 2,400 million* euro.

Agreed on the Blanch location.  A national hospital should have gone out there.  Lots of land, good road network, stick a luas out there too, & plenty of room for the helicopters etc.
