I want CC the customers want them .Why would you want chargers on ranks there are no petrol pumps .Those who got grants for EVs got money for home chargers .

Totally agree about chargers on ranks,it would cause on the likes of aston Quay etc .dont agree about the mandatory use of CC facilities.this was something that was introduced by dispatchers, and supported by government .it interferes with the democratic right of a driver to take cash, not tp mention does away with tips, and also puts your name up in lights in places where you would rather not have your name up in lights

I have explained Mandatory card readers does NOT mean you need to accept cards .Just like Fire extinguishers and first aid kits .

OFFERING not Compelled to accept your card just like you are not compelled to take a passenger .Basically it will be up to individual drivers to decide if they want to OFFER the service based on their personal reading of the customer .

In general you are compelled to take a passenger... with certain exceptions e.g. 30 kilo limit, travellers, etc..
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Im not sure your right there John,my understanding is that the NTA are insisting on the availability of CC facilities being available to all members of the public.

Are travellers listed in the NTA rules as an exception  ?

When the banks sell off all their cash machines to a private company its going to cost around €3.50 just to take cash from these machines. You would want to be off your head to take cash from a machine when that happens. I'd say around 70% of our work will be card in the next few years. Drivers that don't want to take cards might want to look for a different job soon.
