Read an article that basically said Russia has overplayed their hand. Basically it's been tried before to bankrupt America's homegrown oil industry but... America has different bankruptcy laws than the rest of the world.
In America, you can go bankrupt on a Monday (Chapter 11) and be up and running the next day (kinda). All those American fracking companies might go bust (and ~60% of them have before) but they'll be back soon enough with no debts. It's the workers that get screwed in America, not the companies or their bosses.
