Wait 'till Friday before you get sick  O:-)

https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2020/0309/1121216-sick-pay-emergency-legislation/

Quote
The Government is to introduce emergency legislation in the Dáil to amend the rules on sick pay, which will see Illness Benefit rise from €203 per week to €305.

It will be available from the first day of illness rather than after six days as at present, and conditionality will be waived to allow the self employed to receive it.

There will be no minimum number of PRSI contributions, but medical certification will be required.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said the objective was to ensure that workers would not be afraid to self-isolate on financial grounds.

Speaking at a press conference this evening, he said that the new legislation would be in the Dáil next Thursday.
Probably more info in tomorrow's papers...
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

We as an industry are in a good position if our reps were not thick  .We are branded big number on the Door and Roof if we self isolate or are sick then we just remove the roofie and if the car is seen on the street during isolation we are charged with welfare fraud .Due to the Driver app you can put a driver in a car anybody not registered should lose their licence not just get fined prevent drivers from renting and working if claiming .Gaining a medical cert could be a problem if doc bans you from surgery and you have to wait for dial a Doc .

I wouldn't say Dial a doc would go to your house if suspected Covid-19,it would be lads in Hazmat suits.Maybe if they suspend the driver off the portal a idea.I doubt there be NTA enforcers out in a pandemic

Just a thought Leo has acted quite Decisively I wonder could he get the Greens to support him for Taoiseach and then turn the tables on Martin and offer him a Coalition as a junior member with the Greens .Not a fan of Leo but this might turn out to be good leadership close it down and pay up .

Just wondering its the economist in me NO FUCKING LINK ITS MY OWN THOUGHT could this lead to a Universal basic income for all ie.A sum of money paid to ALL citizens if you work or not then tax fuck out of earnings .Some economist suggest paying a Universal Basic Income and removing tax free allowances would yield more tax for the state .

Just watching Claire Byrne, you might just be right Octy, allowing those flight in from Italy was fukin ludicrous,Prof Sam McConkey is right when he says we need to be making tougher and drastic decisions...NOW....not tomorrow or when cases increase and then we're in a different phase,
They're now recommending a 2 metre separation, stop shaking hands...wash hands often...it's up to people to take personal responsibility.....this could actually kill a lot of skangers...the more the merrier.
