I'm told Free Now's Kapten_ was charging STGĀ£20/mile when Uber went off air last week in London. How come they can surge their rates on the mainland yet we have to work for buttons regardless of demand?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Surrender your taxi licence, and get a limo licence. "Fare by agreement"

Does Free Now have surge pricing for "limousines", BS?

... and why would I surrender my taxi licence, I could just rent it out to an immigrant...

As I said, I thought that the limo/ hackney rule was "fare by agreement" with the client, didn't think that FN had an input.

Free Now dictate the fare for the work they dispatch. They use a huge amount of clapped out shiteboxes masquerading as limousines to cover taxi fares up above in Dublin with the fare calculated via a virtual meter.

I know.it happens but technically illegal isnt it? Meant to agree.fare.before.journey.commences.

Debatable. It was challenged in court in the UK - in respect of London which has similar regulations to us insofar as only a licensed taxi can use a meter. The court ruled in favour of PHVs using virtual meters as they are not meters as laid down in regulation and it was considered sufficient that the basis for computation of fares be agreed (or specified) in advance of a private hire.
