Well with the self isolation one they are quite clear that they do not want face to face contact.they do not want anyone going into the intreio offices
Alas, we can't apply online.

I thought they said you could once you had a mywelfare/mygov account.
I don't think I have one. How do I set one up?

Do you have a PSC(Public Services Card)?
Don't think so.
The nearest was a E1-11 card.

Ah ok....you need a PSC to register and they send you out a code so you can access govt services.
To get my PSC I had to attend the local social welfare office for a photo to be taken, plus IDs etc.
Got as far as here on mygovid registration. so have to go into office but aren't they closed or dont want us coming in.

I see someone's already mentioned the phone number.  You only need a Gov ID if you go through the MyWelfare.ie website.

Application notes and form can be downloaded here:  https://www.gov.ie/en/service/be74d3-covid-19-pandemic-unemployment-payment/

Important
You DO NOT NEED to go the Intreo Centre, you can apply in the following ways:
1. An application form for the new Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment can be downloaded from our website www.gov.ie/jobseekers and returned to FREEPOST PO BOX 12896 Dublin 1;
2. You can apply for Jobseekers support through our online portal www.MyWelfare.ie, (you will need a Public Services Card); or
3. Phone us on 1890 800 024 or 01 2481398 and we will send you the relevant application form for the new payment.

You will need to find an envelope though  :o

Just to be clear.....even if you have a mygov account you can't fill that(Pandemic Emergency Payment)form in online,you will need to download it,fill it in and post it,
But if you do have a mygov account you can fill in the Jobseekers Allowance application(that needs to be done within 6 weeks) online.

Be a bit more clear, please:

- Jobseeker's Allowance is means tested
- so there's no special provision for ongoing non-means tested payments for the self unemployed
- right?

Jobseekers benefit not means tested, need a number of PRSI contributions.

Yes but Class S (self-(un)employed) contributions don't qualify.... unless there are special provisions in force or planned?

S class contributions do count.

To qualify for Jobseeker's Benefit, you must satisfy two main PRSI contribution conditions.

Condition 1

You must have paid at least 104 PRSI insurable employment contributions at Class A, H or P,

or

You must have paid at least 156 PRSI self-employment contributions at Class S.

Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment has been introduced for anyone whose employer is unable to continue to pay them. The payment is available to all employees and the self-employed who have lost employment due to the pandemic. You will get a payment of €203 per week for up to 6 weeks (as applicable). To receive the payment follow these steps;
1.Apply for the COVID-19 Unemployment payment using the form on the next page.
2.Post it to FREEPOST PO BOX 12896 Dublin 1.
3.Apply for Jobseekers within 6 weeks to ensure you continue to receive a payment (if applicable) after the emergency payment has finished.
Once this normal Jobseekers claim is subsequently received, the Department will process these claims and reconcile payments at that time. This will involve backdating increased payments for certain customers. Important You DO NOT NEED to go the Intreo Centre, you can apply in the following ways:

1.An application form for the new Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment can be downloaded from our website www.gov.ie/jobseekers and returned to FREEPOST PO BOX 12896 Dublin 1;
2.You can apply for Jobseekers support through our online portal www.MyWelfare.ie, (you will need a Public Services Card);
or 3.Phone us on 1890 800 024 or 01 2481398  and we will send you the relevant application form for the new payment.
Note - Please keep checking your Bank Account as payment may issue in advance of us formally notifying you.
