Deliveries for McDonalds?  Maybe KFC?
Drug runs?
Assassination runs?

A letter in today’s Irish Times
Coronavirus – the need for vigilance
Sir, – Many people have been showing great support to the healthcare workers that are on the “frontline’’. I have had people asking me what they can do to support doctors and nurses in the fight against coronavirus. This is a heartwarming sentiment but it also shows a huge misunderstanding of what is actually going on here. The frontline is not in hospitals. The frontline is where you are, out on the streets. If we are using this war analogy, doctors and nurses are not the soldiers. They are still just the doctors and nurses, dealing with the casualties of war. It is the everyday citizen who is the soldier. It is you who is playing the most important role in fighting this disease. We do not have medicine to treat this virus. Prevention is the only way to fight this. Prevention is up to every one of us.
There are two things about viruses that we all must understand. First, they require hosts to spread. They cannot replicate by themselves. Every time you come into contact with someone you are giving the virus a chance to spread, to replicate, and become more powerful. Every time you decide to avoid contact with someone new, you starve the virus.
Second, viruses spread exponentially. Every time you come into contact with someone new, you are not just putting that person at risk, but also all the people that that person comes into contact with, and all the people that those people come into contact with. Every time you meet one person, it will affect an untold number of people, many of whom will have weaker immune systems than you, and will suffer severely. It is your duty to protect these vulnerable people. I cannot stress this enough. It is the decisions that you make that will decide the course of this disaster.
Social distancing is the most important intervention we can all carry out. It is our greatest weapon. If you can self-isolate for at least two weeks you will help flatten the curve and you will save countless lives. That is the gift that healthcare workers are praying for. Please be our heroes! – Yours, etc,
Dr COLM HARRINGTON,
Salthill, Galway.

The Psychos running this planet always believed so anyway. Ask any Native American or read any ancient Irish letter about The Famine in the museums. It's your property and land that is vital. Which of our wonderful T.D.s was it said, "Pop of Ireland needs to be at the 8m level again".,,,hmmmm was it the Green lad?

Spanish borne viruses killed South American people.
European borne viruses killed natives.
The list goes on.

I've seen them at Tesco clarehall bullit ques of taxis ...had to go get me licence renewal ....you have to make an appointment wen you go into the licence renewal office ....one at a time in the place only ...
Then ya go outside and 2 owlones loading bags into a taxi an yur man no mask or nuttin .....
I really dont understand these people ....they are incredibly
Out of touch and irresponsible ...
Wat is it ....stupidity or lack of care for themselves and others ....I see the ages of those dying in italy  dying is dropping ...they cant cope and people are bein left to die ....its a really nightmarish death ....you drown in your own fluids and your organs start to melt and your blood vessels start to bleed ....
And you dont get a chance to say goodbye to your family ...
Why is the messenge not getting through?
Its absolutely astonishing in my mind to see anyone working within the confines of a vehicle wer the distancing is impossible....
Why put your health at risk and or potentially spread this thing ?
Can anyone explain to me ? I really dont get it ....
They need the money answer doesn't apply now with all the help out there ..

It's too early here to speculate on the death-rate and side-effects. The info is not being released. We're living in a petri-dish of spin, lies and misinformation....truth is nobody has a handle on this at all.

<snip>But Furuya says that this immune system response to this invader can also destroy lung tissue and cause inflammation. The end result can be pneumonia. That means the air sacs in the lungs become inflamed and filled with fluid, making it harder to breathe.

Del Rio says that these symptoms can also make it harder for the lungs to get oxygen to your blood, potentially triggering a cascade of problems. "The lack of oxygen leads to more inflammation, more problems in the body. Organs need oxygen to function, right? So when you don't have oxygen there, then your liver dies and your kidney dies," he says. Lack of oxygen can also lead to septic shock.

The most severe cases — about 6% of patients — end up in intensive care with multi-organ failure, respiratory failure and septic shock, according to a February report from the WHO.

Coffins awaiting burial are lining up in churches and the corpses of those who died at home are being kept in sealed-off rooms for days as funeral services struggle to cope in Bergamo, the Italian province hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

As of Wednesday, Covid-19 had killed 2,978 across Italy, all buried or cremated without ceremony. Those who die in hospital do so alone, with their belongings left in bags beside coffins before being collected by funeral workers.

In Bergamo, a province of 1.2 million people in the Lombardy region, where 1,959 of the total deaths in the country have taken place, 4,305 people had contracted the virus by Wednesday. The death toll across the province is unclear, but the situation has become so intense that on Wednesday night the army was brought in to move 65 coffins from the cemetery in Bergamo town and take them to Modena and Bologna in Emilia-Romagna.

Very symptomatic of Pneumonia which you left unhighlighted, Watty. Wish they'd tell us what it is...giving it a snazzy name doesn't explain what it is...if it is a form of Pneumonia then say so please!

Not a doctor but pneumonia is a medical condition.  There's probably 20 different ways to end up with pneumonia.

Pneumonia can be caught...it is not a pre-existing condition....viral, bacterial and fungal (I think)....don't have to be a Doctor to know it is usually caught as a secondary infection...AND hospitals are ideal for it to thrive. I'm not a Priest but I've heard of Armageddon.....
