SPSV Driver Entry Test Cancellations (Thurs, 26 Mar 2020)

In an effort to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, NTA has taken measures to minimise risk to staff and to candidates wishing to sit the SPSV Driver Entry Test.  As a result, a number of SPSV Driver Entry Tests have been cancelled.

Any candidates affected will receive a cancellation notification.

And a refund  rofl

Bit fukin late there is far far to many taxis as it is.no doubt Kearns Kelly ,Ebbs,were whinging in the ears of the NTA

I must be slipping up.I didnt know most drivers got their licences without sitting a test,you learn somethiing  new every day

Before that mean and nasty lady, Kathleen Doyle took over the entry test from An Garda Siochana. Technically there was a test but it was impossible to fail. When I sat it the Garda supervising willingly gave out any answer requested by any candidate.

Yes you are 100% you couldn't fail .I fell asleep during my Garda test, 25 years ago and the Copper banged the desk to wake me as i was doing nights I drifted off .They used to use Schools on a saturday for the test.

Test in name only, DM. The hardest part of the process was proving that one is unemployable.

Being able to find the test centre was the only requirement. They should give new entrants licences on that basis.

I think we should all have to pass the current entry test at every licence renewal... it makes no sense that new entrants are required to know more than their vastly more experienced colleagues/competitors.

However, quantitative regulation is a completely different matter. It should not be addressed through back door restrictions. It doesn't really matter what you and I think. Free Now believe we need more drivers and they sit on TAC. ITDF and NPHTA have complained that over 20,000 drivers left the trade to pursue more lucrative vocations with the latter calling for lower entry costs. They also sit on TAC.
