€5.02!
The days of hitting more than 60 jobs are probably gone for a while.
Is it possible to make €350 a week with the 35% discount and heavily reduced work ?

And by the way, it's Hung, Drawn and Quartered (Not 'Dried');

"The condemned man would usually be sentenced to the short drop method of hanging, so that the neck would not break. The man was usually dragged alive to the quartering table, although in some cases men were brought to the table dead or unconscious. A splash of water was usually employed to wake the man if unconscious, then he was laid down on the table. A large cut was made in the gut after removing the genitalia, and the intestines would be spooled out on a device that resembled a dough roller. Each piece of organ would be burned before the sufferer's eyes, and when he was completely disembowelled, his head would be cut off. The body would then be cut into four pieces, and the king would decide where they were to be displayed. Usually the head was sent to the Tower of London and, as in the case of William Wallace, the other four pieces were sent to different parts of the country. The head was generally par-boiled in brine to preserve the appearance of the head in display, while the quarters were more often prepared in pitch, for longer-lasting deterrent displays."

I'm of the opinion that they won't be looking for this back except through higher taxes.They've already said it's gonna be 12 weeks payment so they can't backtrack now.
<snip>
I don't know the answer.  But if 500,000 people gets the emergency payment of €350/wk for 12/wks, that's €2.1 Billion!  I think the country's 'turnover' is only something like €50bn.  I can't imagine they'd give away that much money and then just let us keep it?  Esp, when pretty much anybody with a PPS number and a bank account got it.  And there will be people who'll hang on for the 12 weeks milking it & not going back to work.  They'd have to do some sort of double-checking?

They'll be so busy with the job seekers applications they won't have time to be doing audits in the next year or two.Many folks won't go back to work straight away because they're jobs won't exist anymore.

They've killed off so many peoples livelihoods so they don't really have any reasons to come back afterwards looking for the money back IMO.

It will be spent then they'll get income tax from our incomes and tax when we buy stuff.No flies on our civil servants.

If yer not working you don't need to think about it really.Just add €4200 to your income for the year.

Time will tell.

Had a plumber in today and his son works in the S.Welfare, he tells me that you will have to declare this income and it going to be taxed, PRSI'd etc etc.

NO such thing as a free lunch.

Going out to the pub now to celebrate with me €1.40 from FN

Haven't heard officially whether it's taxable or not but I'm inclined to assume it is.
