Fair enough ken but if these cnuts were serious about helping the cause they'd pay the drivers double the fare for danger money, charge the customer half fare and in the event the driver gets the disease they'd look after him financially by paying him 70% of his previous years earnings broken up into weekly payments.  Thats IF they were serious which they're not.

You really dont get it Paul the Four Door Bonnett and Boot men think they are running a business and think the more they work the more they earn when the reality is the more you work the more you work there is no fiscal association between the two .I know what time to be where to make coin anybody can sit at Heuston or Thomas Street for an hour and get 6 euro to the Flats on Jamses Street .About 70% of drivers are less than 10 years at this they couldnt find the own cock in a toilet never mind work the apps own them .They will be the first men on the end of the rope when they realize the cost of doing business out weight the return .

Now I engage the services of a dispatch firm for no other reason then to provide me with work .now at this stage,I consider myself to some extent to be that firms employer  right ? Now that same dispatch firm gets to big for its boots and starts directly interfering in the running of my business,( bearing in mind they were only hired to provide me with work nothing else ) why the fukk would I allow them to do this ? No you are correct >I posted about Work Capture this is where the apps capture the work then they dispense that work to preferred operators their Ambassadors .Now they get a % and the workers pick up all the costs associated .I was the First to try to explain this on Roys but Nobody listened .I was also the First to point out the Loophole with WAVs but nobody listened .I am an Economist by training I can see the endgame even before the seed is planted .There was one chance and that was to get somebody elected to work it from the inside .Watch Veronica Murphy X head of the Road Hauliers work for the trucking industry now she has a vote the Government needs .When Kelly said he wanted us all aligned we should of looked for the Taxithingey to provide a booking app as part of our licence fee but certain drivers thought the tax man would then know how much they earn so honest drivers who pay their dues were exploited by commercial service providers .Two or Three years time when we go cashless as Kelly provided for in Legislation the taxman will know all anyway but we will be handing over 25% commission .

I just got the cringeworthy FN email sent out to customers,
very little mention that FN are taking No hit at all but just dropping the commission,
and no mention at all that the Taxi driver putting his life at risk is actually the one who suffers financially;

In all sincerity maybe its time we DID seriously think about getting so.ebody elected on to the transport council I believe John M would represent our interest,he certainly has a good insight into what is going on.I therefore propose at the next opportunity we think seriously about this.there is no good constantly whinging ,and whining about dispatchers,NTA,etc when we have the opportunity to have a man on the inside who can influence policy decisions in our favour.

The  reality is that as long as  FN have the drivers  then they will get the work and as long as they have the work then they will get the drivers it's a circle . Slagging off drivers on here will not change that.. what we need to do is break that circle somehow  . 2 ideas come to mind right now .
fFirstly that email has been sent  and they cannot unsend it  so we need to take control of the  narrative  so we can get the reality of what this is and what it  means out into the public  discourse.
 A protest is not possible  and probably not that usefull . we should  collectively  pester  Joe Duff on Liveline and that  other one on Newstalk  to tackle the issue  and make sure FN dont set the tone .we should  set up a  social media  campaign on Facebook ,Twister,  Instagram and what ever else there is . on this Issue  alone   and be relentless ! God knows we have time on our hands and theres more of us than  there is  of them .
Secondly when this virus scare thing has ended and we can operate  again  there will probably be a recession  and money will be scarce for everyone  . Thats a good time to remind everyone  that a FreeNow Taxi  (or any Dispatcher) will cost 2 euros more right off the bat  and encourage people to street hail and /or use the ranks whenver possible We can do this by talking to punters  in the car  in the streets  in the pubd  whereever  and  an organised  social media campaign  for this would be good too.


However there will always propbably be a market for FN  and there  probably will always  be some drivers out there who will do anything they want . lets not waste energy on them.

Set a  realistic goal and focus on it.  Take action .

I think that when the recession hits fn will offer discounted fares and no puc. I'm beginning to hope this never ends because I think when we do go back to work we will be hard pressed to bring home €350 after costs.
