Might be a stupid question but does it hit your no claims if you drop the taxi insurance for a month or two?

No ....you are changing it to private domestic temporarily because of extraordinary circumstances and a pandemic that has caused you to be out of work and why the government is paying you 350 a month to stay at home so you dont spread it and kill people..
If they try to take advantage....a simple court case would
Clear things up ...you wouldnt even need a solicitor to win yur case

I rang Axa today to get a haircut on me insurance, lady took my details and said the Taxi line will ring me back.

Will drop down to private use (thanks DM) and based on 60% should save approx

LOOK .Do you see it DO YOU SEE IT .All you see is the Medical bit but ignore the important bit .The FARE IS FIXED thats what they are trialing fixed fares .I fucking told you this but nobody ever listened .You gave them the Information they will run an algorithm and when the passenger imputs the pick up and drop off they will offer fixed fares you will do them until they have enough hacks or goons to cover them and they drop you ..Now in going back int isolation from here .STAY SAFE .

i suspended my insurance until further notice, will be using another car so will be refunded by my insurer when my renewal is up.

rang the NTA and broke the link, they want me to send an email to them and post the tamper proof discs back to Galway, i should have kept my mouth shut as if i do, i will have to get them put on again, the centre is a good drive from where i live. the taxi is going to be parked up anyway so what difference does it make sending the discs back?

Unfortunately there are drivers out there desperate enough to take fixed fares.
  and that level of desperation is nothing compared to what we will see in a few months..
