I wouldnt know anything about the dishwasher its in her cooking room or somewhere .I dont watch the news I read one site News Now  it gives both sides of every issue so you read both and make up your own mind .In one of my past existences I use to research for a stock broking firm .When I use the Phrase A man I know who hires Casual labour that is reference to a research body that correlates all known data to plot a future strategy for investors or brokers .eg.The contract for the Marathon has not been signed what does that mean .It means that hotel rooms usually booked by runners will not be full so investing in hotel stocks is not a great idea .If the contract was signed to provide barriers then you take a punt on buying hotel shares at todays reduced price and when its announced the Marathon is going to happen hotel share price goes up you sell the shares take the profit .Thats how active brokers make their coin .
