St Patrick's Athletic have been forced to temporarily lay off their playing and coaching staff, according to a statement from the League of Ireland club.

The coronavirus pandemic has practically ended all sport in Ireland and there is no indication when domestic soccer will get back up and running, with the Government saying on Tuesday that there would be no gatherings of more than 5,000 people permitted before September.

A statement from the Dublin-based club read: "It is with considerable regret that the board of St Patrick's Athletic FC, following extensive deliberation, announces that as of today it has been left with no option but to temporarily lay off its playing and coaching staff.

Imagine this SCUM were trying to fool locals that they had the coin to redevelope Saint Michaels Estate but cant pay their contracted staff .

Once a Saint Always a Saint.

Few more to follow I'd say

Whole league but Pats were selling Snake oil saying they could fund a new stadium housing ,shops a whole new town center but cant grab the Government offer of part wages for their players and staff and make up the difference .They headed for the exit faster than a shit after 17 pints and a curry .

John the redevelopment you speak of was being done in conjunction with large financial investors pats never would have managed this venture alone, but they showed great ambition, in trying to secure the finance for this in the first place, considering we live in a country where the natives would rather support the British premiership, then their own domostic league

They were Played just like Carroll played Bohs and yer man played Drogheda .They were exposed as little more that FUCKING WHORES playing their supporters and locals to try make coin .League of Ireland Football is fucking diabolical not up to Dutch Pub League standard .They have gotten away with flogging pure shite for years .Best outcome for Irish Soccer is it collapses and goes back to an Amateur game .Imagine trying to justify why Longford Town FC should exist .

Thank God you have nothing to do with LOI soccer. I'm a passionate life long supporter of the LOI, and have travelled throughout Europe to support my own club. It's people like you , who continuesly critize the standard of the game here, yet you have probably never been inside Richmond park in your life. As for the story behind bohs and Carroll you haven't a fukin clue about what happened

All not doom and gloom, at least they doing a bit for the community.

"The club, following on from contract adjustments, have continued their community work despite the onset of COVID-19. This has included school workbooks for children and the delivery of food to frontline workers alongside sponsors"

I love the LOI, 20 euro to sit in a stand watching a decent standard of football in our own country, compare that with the cost of flying to the UK to watch football paying 85 euro for the ticket alone and pretending you are from Manchester/Liverpool.

The standard of LOI has improved a lot in the last 5 years, anyone who says it is dirt obviously dont watch it.
