Yes indeed I'm inclined to agree with you, but Rome wasn't built in a day,. I suppose when you have extreme left wing advocates like Boyd Batret Coppinger, and Michael D, etc etc. It's hard for people to express their true feelings in public. I really do believe there are a lot of people out there whos inner most thoughts would be influence by far right ideology, but these people to a large extent feel muzzled because the sentiments they would like to express could be very unpopular in certain circumstances

Rome? I don't remember the job... what went wrong?

SF is the biggest proponent of open borders having consistently criticised Govt for not taking enough refugees. Perhaps you are out of touch with peoples' true feelings?

I'm not suggesting that you're out of touch with your own feelings... although you might be!

Don't think so rat, if you remember what Pearse said Ireland will NEVER be at peace as long as our country is ouccpied, now the fact that we are STILL an occupied country would hardly mean I am out of touch, I just remember what happened in 81 unlike you it seems

In considering whether you are "in touch" you may want to consider when the son of a Brit said that... and remember, being born in a stable doesn't make one a horse. Anywaysanall, the Good Friday Agreement was endorsed by the Irish electorate hence said occupation is accepted... unless you're talking about the Indian occupation?

Ratified by the population. The views of an insignificant minority are... well... insignificant in a democracy. In fact referenda and elections in general make it very easy for folk to express their true feelings - in private - to dictate public policy. It's quite clear that the Irish want open borders.

I think that's what Trump suggested, Octy... well almost... he thought the brits should stack the brick and the paddies should pay... novel, eh?

I reckon they should give Gibraltar back to the Spanish and ship the monkeys and monarchists to norn iron and make it a duty free tax haven.

Speaking of which... Boris Johnson Faces A Gibraltar Crisis On His First Day Back At Work (Forbes, 27 April 2020)

Quote
While the coronavirus forced Spain into a strict lockdown, Spanish military incursions into British waters around Gibraltar have ramped up. Spain has taken full advantage while British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was sidelined for most of April by a serious case of COVID-19.  Tension is extremely high. The rate of aggressive Spanish incursions into British territory raises the prospect of a direct military confrontation between the two NATO allies.

And America might get dragged in...
Quote
Tension over Gibraltar risks ensnaring the United States.

When American submarines visit Gibraltar, Spanish vessels regularly interfere to the point where escorting British guardships fire warning shots. A few days ago, Spanish Air Traffic Control interfered with a U.S. KC-130 that was flying out of Gibraltar.

The tensions are so high that any U.S. asset calling upon Gibraltar cannot transit directly to Spain—a NATO ally—but must either stop at a second port or fly to another country.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Occi I have been saying this for Years Brexit will fuck us this Flu is only in the Halfpenny Place .Dont be surprised to see an about turn WHAT THE FUCK type move by the Shinners when they say we should leave the EU after doing an under the table deal with the UK to hand back the Six counties ,when I say hand back I mean fiddle the referendum to guarentee the outcome sort of agreement .Britain would get a better deal with the EU if it wasent for the Irish border .Ireland leave the EU that problem dissapears .Remember the Shinners mantra is a United Ireland not necessarily in the EU .

It was interesting to note that a survey carried out only today, recorded a small drop in support for remaining in the EU. this country has always been very pro EU, but the result revealed that we are now down from 93% support for remaining, to 84 %  those figures in themselves are insnigifincet, but could it be the start of a movement to take us out ?
