What to do if you are self-employed (COVID-19)

Published: 3 April 2020
From: Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection
If you pay yourself as a PAYE worker through your payroll then you can apply for the Temporary COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Scheme from the Revenue Commissioners.

If you don’t pay yourself as a PAYE worker then you should claim the emergency COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment at MyWelfare.ie.

You may, if your trading income has collapsed to the extent that you are available to take up other full-time employment if it was offered to you, receive a payment of €350 per week for so long as you are available to take up other work. This is equal to the standard jobseeker rate for a two adult household.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Ken... Has your trading income collapsed to the extent that you are available to take up other full-time employment if it was offered to you?

They've changed the end time definition on https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/unemployed_people/covid19_pandemic_unemployment_payment.html
for the 3rd time it now says
"The COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment will be in place until at least 8 June 2020."

It's pretty dynamic alright but June 8 is the date the Minister stressed on the wireless today. She went on to explain that those who are still not allowed to work could get more on the normal Jobseekers schemes using the example that a couple would get €450... nobody asked her to explain the math behind her computing that €450 is more than €700...

Anywaysanall, that seems to be for PAYE plebs. The self-employed scheme says the €350 will be paid "for so long as you are available to take up other work". Get in!

Looking at the murder rate in the USA 4 days into removing lockdown and 2300 deaths for today if the numbers hit 3000 a day within 2 weeks .We would be insane to open up building sites or anything else . Donny  T sending Yankee Guinea Pigs to the slaughter ,he needs the stockmarkets to be making money for the living .The Dead cant vote for him but the living if they have a few bucks will. This cunt is actually committing genocide poor cunts have to go out to work while the rich can stay home .

i construed that as I have every right to claim the three fiddy and still go out and have a rattle amongst the ruins of the taxi industry caused by the government imposed lockdown. no?

Despite earlier info to the contrary... that’s how I read it too

It's hardly a fucking conundrum... it's there in bold and white!

And still there hasn't been the avalanche of get well soon or RIP notices on the various taxi social media outlets. you must be bitterly disapointed
