Other posters are saying the same thing but all a screen does is contain the potential virus in a smaller area making it more likely that the passenger will be more vulnerable from the previous customer or previous ten customers..Generally, our customers are a smart bunch. I think they know the screens are not there for them so I won't be in a hurry to get one.

If I had one I certainly wouldn't be cleaning it after every fare.

A screen protects the passenger from you, also you are somewhat less likely to be a carrier than drivers who don't have a screen, so the environment the passengers find themselves in is similar to every other one they come across ....  touch nothing and sanitise regularly whether or not you do touch anything, the driver/human contact is the main thing people need to distance themselves from, the screen helps in this regard. Having no screen increases the risk of person to person transfer in both directions

Many passengers will not want to interact with you, particularly given that you pay little or no heed to your own protection, they will believe you are more likely to be a carrier than a driver who takes more care to distance themselves from the virus

I think there might be some truth in that.  I've seen newspaper stories where they talk about the 'viral load'.  If you just walk by an infected person, you might get a mild dose of the disease.  But if you get a concentrated dose (like healthcare workers), it might affect you a lot more and be more serious clinically. 

Maybe keeping a couple of windows open a crack might be better all round?

and NONE of you have given any thought toi.surance implications in the event of an accident after fitting these screens.I always find in this fukin industry,once a handful of drivers do something,the rest have to follow or we are fukked.

When this virus is gone and the think tanks look at how it was handled and think of ways to be more prepared for a future pandemic, that’s the most likely time that screens will become mandatory

Well I will refrain from installing one --judging by some of the shit heaps I have seen them in ,punters would be safer walking !
Drivers with masks and gloves on--then moving them to smoke,eat or drink coffee then replacing them,they know F--All  about contamination--saw one guy coughing into his gloved hand !
