There's absolutely nothing to to backup your statement Korky.

Screens do not help against virus particles suspended in the air.Other posters have been talking about screens as the answer too and I'm a bit confused now..This all started because a few installers in Dublin started trying to sell proper security screens as virus protection then others jumped on the idea including Freenow. Now yous took the idea like it was advice form the World health organisation.

I fukkin hate repeating myself but how are yis going to get three people who don't live in the same household to sit on the back seat and maintain social distancing?Nobody has figured that out and the screens aren't worth anything in that situation.

By the way the screens Robinsons taxi services are selling start at €350.Guess which ones the NTA will insist we buy? They won't be taking DIY jobs as legal.

I'm really enjoying the bit of time off.

In the same way as we moaned about unnecessary safety kits,in a few months time we will be moaning about the unnecessary screens, that we installed in our cars, and by then it will be to late tou will have made it become, mandatory.rhe NTA will be delighted with you .you have made it mandatory to offer card facilities, you have made it mandatory to carry safety kits, its NEARLY mandatory to have to join a dispatch scum against the wishes of independents,
and NONE of you have given any thought toi.surance implications in the event of an accident after fitting these screens.I always find in this fukin industry, once a handful of drivers do something, the rest have to follow or we are fukked.

When this virus is gone and the think tanks look at how it was handled and think of ways to be more prepared for a future pandemic, that’s the most likely time that screens will become mandatory

I'd say before the years out we will have to get them fitted. Then make an appointment to get them checked and every year they will be part of the test, If they are scratched or marked it's a fail.

The only people allowed to sit beside each other are those from the same gaff.So unless you've got lots of small families moving around the screens are pointless.

If yer gonna allow one person from a group sit in the front why do you need a screen at all.

Ah come on Merc, I'd rather someone sneeze on the screen than on my freshly cut neck hair.

LISTEN The Idea of Screens was proposed by Free Now and lads PAID for them .Free Now will relaunch and say OUR FLEET are fitted with screens as a selling point .For any screen to work it would need to be in a vacume .Screens are no more that Big Jimmy Kings Daughter Donna going out to the Red Cow she wont go unless her false tan is done .Its just a security blanket for scared people .

Safety kits, having to offer cc,screens, etc your ALL to blameand the readon is ,like I said in the OP ,to ill moan, but in the end you accept all this expensive, and unnecessary shite the NTA throw at you at the behest of fukin dispatchers.your bringing all this shitr upon yourself, sinply because you wint object to it.anyone on here who is a member of a union should go to their union ,and make their feelings known in the strongest possible terms

Seriously Dollymount have you ever considered your health issues and are a lot of them caused by stress .You fixate on the mundane .We are unskilled casual labour nothing more nothing less .Vests first aid kits and fire extinguishers are available in every industry in the country .Take a building site .Hard hats ,Steel toecap boots ,High vis .Goggles and facemasks if you are doing certain tasks even the bags of cement have been reduced in size .When I worked the Sites I never needed a ticket ,If I wanted scaffold I put it up my self if I wanted to move stuff I jumped in a dumper ,but thats not allowed anymore .Stop fretting about stuff that dosent really matter it will kill you .

The germans used an air pump on the hindenburg to keep the air pressure above atmospheric pressure so then yu could smoke a cigar in the cabin ting that hung under the big dirigible hydrogen bomb part an ya didnt need to seal the cabin then and the ting wudnt blow up.......if you put a compressor from lidls and plug it into the cigarette lighter it wud blow all the germs out the window but mite be a bit noisy but ....
Yu cud also get a big one an stick it into freenows door on mount street an blow the shoite out the window ....if the window was open  ???

John.im Not stressing about any of it.im just making the point that this industry is becoming ever more expensive to stay in.if men dont do anything about it,then some will not survive.im just questioning why the unions are not showing much interest in protecting their members from this ever increasing costs.
