I'm probably not gonna put in a screen unless the NTA tells me to so I don't really care.

My only concern is the NTA giving out instructions that may or may not be feasible.  E.g., the 2m 'social distancing' in a taxi is impossible.

You tell them that then and Im sure they will revoke your licence .Or you could read the builders federation guidelines about co workers and social distancing .There is an exemption for workers who need to work in close proximity .So there are exemptions .Big Dommo was in the ESSO on Ballyfermot Road today he noticed the lad inside the shop was less than 2 meters away from him when he was paying at the hatch .I would bet money the fella on the till is not bitching about it .

Physical distancing is only one aspect of social distancing. Work from home is another...

Does your screen meet the required specs erm and, if so, are you going to go back on the tools and start flogging them?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Did you get "certification to a known test standard" and, if so, what standard is it?

Maybe I'm a bit OCD but I've always been interested in 'the rules' the pen pushers send out and the 'real world'.

- As a teenager, I got kicked out of my (middle-class) youth club because I actually read the rules and argued with the 'adults' in the room.
- On the eve of leaving school, I got sent a SW ID card by SW.  When I went to sign on/get in the system, I was asked for ID.  I showed SW the card but they wouldn't accept it.  Pen-pusher rules.
- When the money-laundering rules came in, the Bank of Ireland sent a letter using my name and address to my house asking me to prove my name and address.
- etc, etc...

It's like the Govt/NTA are saying 'everything is ok', we've sent out a press release about social distancing, screens, refusing cash, & no front seat passengers.  But how does that actually work in the real world?  It's like nobody in authority has asked someone who acutally has to do it.  But... But... when the shit hits the fan and it ends up in court or insurance claim (or the Joe Duffy show), they'll point to their press releases and we'll be screwed!

We have to play by their rules so it's useful to know how they think?

I got a letter from Google today asking me to prove I lived at the address, I had to put a number into an online form, similar to your BOI letter, clever when you think about it

Is there a sticker on the screen confirming this.I thought all products used in the EU had to be CE or TUV approved .Is DIN not just Uk approval? If so it is not approved in the EU.

CE marks aren't worth a toss

A manufacturer or importer is entitled to place the CE Mark on their product after they have met the requirements of all relevant European Directives.

An importer I worked for just stuck the sticker on everything they brought it prior to dispatch, nobody checked anything and nobody seemed to give a fuck.
