Sum up mobile payments
« on: May 15, 2020, 03:52:52 pm »
Handy, missed it when I dropped CabApp

Dear ,

Have you spotted our latest feature in the SumUp App?

You’ve just been given access to Mobile Payments at a 2.75% fee per transaction. You can now generate a payment link, send it to your customer and get paid remotely.

Here’s how to use it:

Step 1
Log in to your SumUp App or download it for either iOS or Android.

Step 2
After entering an amount, select “Mobile Payments” as your payment method.

Step 3
Share the link with your customer via WhatsApp, Facebook, Email or SMS and track all your transactions in your “Sales History.”

I emailed Sumup because they said they were reverting to 2.75% after a free period when I was only paying 1.89%.

It's only 1.69% in the UK.

Currently I send a Paypal money request to folk who want to prepay for their taxi journey, charges are 30c plus 2.9% for local transactions and 4.4% for international ones

I did get the mail telling me they were upping their commission from 1.95% to 2.75% in the middle of this pandemic.

Revolut is brilliant, we use it in the family to spread money around, never even think to ask passengers

It tends to be parents paying for their kids, or businesses paying up front for clients, Happens more often than you'd think

Dalymount ..What do you not understand about the current /modern Taxi business.People want to use an app or pay by card.If it does not suit you then get out of the game. When the economy starts to restart how many people will be paying by cash? How many people will walk from the back end of Clarehall or similar in pissing rain to hail a Taxi on the main road?

Get real or get out of the business and live on your pension.
