Seemingly I'll get a letter extending my licence for 30 days, every 30 days until the NTA decide to go back into their office, as they cannot accept payments from home. I still had to go into the carriage office with all the relevant documents though .. way outside my 5km boundary ..and on the Northside! ... decades said to keep me safe

Email from the Carriage office:
Dear Sir
I am to acknowledge receipt of your email below. In relation to your application to renew your SPSV licence please attend this office with all the required documentation minus the €250 receipt from the NTA. This office will accept your application and will place it on hold. We are bound by the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013 and cannot process your renewal application without the €250 receipt.
We are open from 09.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays. No appointment is currently needed. The renewal application forms are available at the public counter in the Carriage Office.
Please bring the following documents with you:
Completed renewal application form
PPSN
Driving Licence (in current address)
PSV Licence (white paper one)
However, under Section 9(16) of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013, if you apply to renew your SPSV licence more than 6 weeks before the expiry of your current licence and we have not determined your application by said expiration date, your old licence remains in force. This office will issue you a letter stating same and you will be entitled to continue to operate. The NTA will be informed of this and will update their database. This means that you will still appear on the NTA app and can link yourself to your vehicle.
The NTA will contact you when they resume accepting payments. When you receive your receipt of payment, you can forward same to this office and your renewal application will be processed.
Regards
Louise
