Wen I started drivin a taxi I got the flu every year ....and chest infections, cold, yu name it ....I got the swine flu ( mother of jaysus ... nearly a month in bed an 6 months in an out of the eye an ear ...an I git the aussie flu ...3 weeks in bed an another 3 months in an out of the eye an ear .......it was the most appalling experience of me life....like a really bad hangover but worse .....since then I got the vaccinations and havnt had anything since 2018......
This flu is not to be messed with or underestimated.....
For some it is a mild illness ...for others it can kill ....and that includes men our age ....some are more susceptible than others and from wat I understand men get it worse than woman an kids because adult male hormones interact wit it
And make it deadly ........some of yous mite get a cough an bit of a fever for a bit ....others it can kill them in a few days .....so I have to take the threat of getting it seriously
I'm certain from my susceptibility of coronavirus other than covid 19 and the impacts flu, hav on me that I cud likly snuff it from the ting ...And I'm fit and healthy ....
I'm going get complacency naturally like we all will now that we sick of free holidays and tins of Guinness but this ting needs to be treated with caution and respect ...
Well said, you have effectively re enforced my point. I think we can all agree that most taxi drivers get more colds, flus, chest infections, given the nature of our job and the close proximity we are to passengers.
The covid19 virus is still an unknown entity and is extremely contagious. Only this morning I read that experts are still learning about it and the effect it is having on people.
Even those who got mild symptoms are possibly facing long term complications that involve lungs, heart, kidneys, blood vessels or the brain.
Whilst we are beginning to slowly open up the economy, the virus hasnt gone away you know.
