The BBC have now resorted to absolute bolloxoligy.they have now removed the episode of the Germans from fawlty towers.what is the world coming to at all.even the most left leaning liberals of you have to admit this is fukin ridiculous.if things keep going the way they are, you'll be afraid to bid your neighbour good morning in case thats racist in some way.seriously now,I think its gone beyond a joke.older people myself included find it difficult to cope in todays world not knowing what you can,and cannot say

It was fairly obvious that the NTA were replying to queries stating the letter of the law regarding stickers, in reality there is no need to return them, nobody is checking

It's fairly obvious that the NTA fuked up with regard to the letter of the law, those licence holders(myself included) will have to book an appointment to get new daisies fitted at no charge and also dealing with renewals which are clearly backlogged.....they obviously feel that those who suspended their licences can't be trusted not to work.

The NTA have really shown there incompetence during this Covid 19 pandemic.

They offered Taxi drivers with a suitability date prior to 13/6/20 a 3 month extension on their licence.

But my vehicle licence expires on 17/6/20. Both the NTA and NTC centers re opened on 8/6/20.

My NCT expired on 17/4/20 but was given a 4 month extension to 18/8/20 which the NTA would not accept because I actually passed the NCT a few weeks early and the actual passing of my NCT test was more than 90 days old.

And I was told by the NTA (after numerous calls and call-backs from supervisors) to book and pass your NCT, wait 48 hours fer it to show on our system, then book and pass a suitability test ALL WITHIN A 9 (7 working day) WINDOW or else your licence will expire.

To 'Beggar Belief' One NTA supervisor told me; "It's not our fault that you can't get an NCT !".

Stating the obvious, I guess. I thought your NCT had to be within 60 days of suitability and within 90 days of licence expiry or have they relaxed the rules?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I thought it was 90 days, maybe your right and it is 60, either way I had a 4 month NCT extension that the NTA would not accept.
They imposed near impossible regulations fer me to comply with within a 9 (7 day working) window with no Leeway excepted.

The regulations are the regulations.... comply or don't comply, it's your choice.

I know, I did comply.

I just thought that fer the NTA to offer a working Taxi man (through no fault of his own) a 7 day working window to complete both tests or be put off the road was a tad on the harsh side.

Are you sure the NTA are back in their offices? I'm awaiting a call to pay for my driver licence renewal as they were not able to accept payments from home, carriage office has my application and are awaiting payment confirmation to process it

The regulations are the regulations.... comply or don't comply, it's your choice.

Indeed, however logic would suggest returning stickers and replacing them is a task neither the drivers or the NTA wants.
Under normal circumstances any driver reducing their cover would ring alarm bells, not so for the time being, it's something they will clamp down on after we're all back and things return to normal again.
Wouldn't be the first time a "blind eye" was turned due to circumstances.

So much for them ringing me, I guess I'll have to set aside an hour or 2 listening to Greensleeves

Do they not use a call center to process the calls? Anytime I've rang them it seems like they're reading off a script.

Remember most of the country is still working from home.

They could only be running a skeleton service. Also if it is a call center many of their staff may not have bothered coming back to work if they have vulnerable family to protect.Go to work possibly on minimum wage or stay at home for the covid 350.Not a difficult decision.
